I've been a step dad for nearly 20 yrs. It doesn't come easier with time, in fact, it sems to get harder as the years go by. Good luck with every thing,

Greetings Dawn. Bob is right,it doesn't get easier. Thankfully there are others out there who are going through or have been through the same thing. It's been a real sanity saver for me! Greetings from Germany.

Dear Dawn
I don't think life is easy for any of us these days. But you know there are others out there as happygolucky says. I thought I was so alone in the beginning until I looked on the internet. Most people expected me and my husband to have a child, but I had enough going on with my SD, and then they stopped asking. I wish you all the luck in the world in your journey as a stepparent.

I've just found this and I have to agree. A lot of people want me to have a child of my own but I have to figure out this whole SS thing first.

I understand this completely up until recently Ive never doubted wanting to have kids with my husband but lately he has been going against everything I say with his daughter and it makes me nervous to have our own kids
