File this one under "WTF???".
So I was a lettle bored this morning, and decided to play a little on myspace. Just for s*its and giggles, I decided to look up SS8's name. Well - guess what??
He's on there alright - or should I say BM is. The user name is his, but it's her pic, her birthdate, ect...
What is up with that?? I've told DH about it, and he doesn't get it either.

WEIRD....
What else can I say?? My 12-year-old son was to open a FB account.... I don't think hes old enough.... any opinions on the issue? Also.... IF we do decide to let him open an account I can promise you that I won't be one of his friends!! I'd have access to his account for monitoring purposes....
fb and myspace
Be sure to read the rules for each. You do have to be a minimum age on both. And I was glad---the less the kids get hooked on that stuff the better---mine all still prefer read books and go outside and play (18/16/15). I was able to keep my 15yo NS from getting his FB page until after he finished 8th grade, because it states you must be a HS student.
my SIL allowed her
daughter to have a FB page??? She's only 11. Whats wrong with these parents? FB and myspace are NOOOOO place for kids!
Sorry I wasn't clear - it's
Sorry I wasn't clear - it's BM's myspace, she's just using SS's name :? .
I don't know why she wouldn't use her own, unless she thinks she's hiding from someone/something...
Had a family page on Myspace...FB kids are not a part of
We had a family page on myspace (have since deleted after BM made several attempts to contact us). We had pics of family outtings, school functions pretty much everything going on with our family. Kids enjoyed helping me set our "mood/status". Our only friends were extended family members...kids loved leaving posts for thier cousins/aunts/uncles and grandma too!
BS12 wanted his own but he already has his own email and cell phone so I didn't see a need for it. I monitor all email and all text messages and told him when I feel like he can be trusted (he has had numerous inappropriate conversations with friends) we will revisit the issue.
Kids love to play the games on FB so we will sign in and allow them to play the games on occasion. I only use FB to communicate with family.
Kids each have their own computers with internet access (in their playroom not bedrooms). Hubby is very computer savy so even things "deleted" he finds...that's how we have caught BS12 having inapproriate conversations with frinds via chat/email.
MySpace is no place for kids alright!
My SD 13 has had a MySpace account since she was 11 and put on there that she is 15. BM not only allows her to have it, but banned me and DH from being on her 'friends' list last year when things were still cordial between us and the SD....I guess BM was really pissed off when she saw my profile pics of a happy DH and happy SK's having fun with me. Awww.

Awww... how dare you post
Awww... how dare you post happy pics of your family!!
Shame on you!
How do you....
How do you monitor your kid's text messages? I JuST signed bs (12) onto your account and am literally giving him his new cell phone today.... how do I monitor his text messages?
It's SS8's name on the page,
It's SS8's name on the page, but it's actually BM's page! That's what I don't get - why doesn't she use her own name??
I should add that when I did a search under her own name/email, nothing came up.
Cuz shes a freaking psycho....
Why does she do any of the bizzare things she does?? Cuz shes a freaking psycho!!
The more I know of her, the
The more I know of her, the more I think she really does have some sort of disorder.
I was talking to my sister the other day, and she had read an article about bpd, and said BM fit alot of the descriptions. She sent me a link, I guess I should read it, and see what we're in for.
I agree with those rules,
but what if BM is the one who is running the myspace page? I mean the kids can post information, but BM decides who they can and cannot be friends with. BM might decide to de-friend the bio-dad or stepmother from the kids' account(s). I don't know if there's any way myspace can help the bio-dad and stepmom in that regard. I don't think interrogating the child is a good idea; it just puts him or her in the middle. So I don't know what the answer is.
SEE....
I wouldn't want my kids to put me down as friends on their page.... because my page is for ME and MY friends.... I may say things and things may be posted on my wall that are not appropriage for my kids to see.... my kids are NOT my friends and I would not add them as my friends on FB.... however I would have access to their passwords so that I could monitor their pages....
Another
psycho BM with myspace issues? BM tried to say I broke the law (or maybe it was myspace rules) b/c I posted pic of SD7 on my profile w/o her permission. Well, I had DH permission. She posted family pic of both kids in bathing suits (WTF)on her page...double standards anyone?
