Prayers to survive joint birthday party with BM psycho crazy

We are having karate themed party. I could use some prayers that it will all go well. This is all I could come up with:
God grant me the ability to keep from breaking the board over her head
Or kicking her in her fat ass instead
Help me to keep from smashing cake in her face
And get through the whole fucking thing with some grace!

OMG! A Joint birthday party??? Who's idea was this b/c it obviously wasn't yours, lol. I'd be having daydreams of choking her with a black belt (or any belt for that matter.) }:)

You're a stronger woman than me for even going, so I offer up my most heartflet best wishes and powerful prayers. You will survive this and you will do it with grace and patience. Just keeping saying this to yourself.... what doesn't kill me makes me stronger and God willing I won't kill her. (at least not in front of witnesses and without having found a proper place to dispose of the body.) HaHa! Wink . Seriously, lighting a candle for you as I type.

Who's hosting (who issued the invitations)? Who's paying?

Who drugged you to get you to agree to going to this clusterf***?

It's a neutral location. Technically it's our party we are throwing. In the past BM has come. BUT lately she has been crazy, so she was not invited this year. The facility had a conflict and needed to move the date to BM's weekend. I was going to stay home but FDH said in that case he would cancel it completely.
Which would not be fair to SS... so I'm stuck.

Ugh. I did that ONCE.... back in the day when I was new to this gig and had stars in my eyes.

Now? Not on your life. That fateful b-day party was years ago... and I've pretty much avoided all contact since. Now I'm gagging at the thought of high school graduation which is right around the corner.

My DH has some long held thing that the SKids WILL NOT have the "two party" lifestyle. He feels it makes the adults compete (my party was better that youuuuuur party) and the kids greedy.

Meh, I kind of feel if BM wants to do over the top parties than let her. Who cares? We could have whatever party we would normally have. The kids aren't idiots... it won't be long before they realize BM is a POS who tries to buy their affection with a MOTY put-on of a party. They'll figure it out. And it's only a competition if TWO people are playing. Otherwise, it's just a nutty BM having an over the top party.

Anyhow, I submitted back when I also had stars in my eyes, and now what is done can not be undone. So, time to paint on a fake smile, be civil, and go suffer through a bad dinner while BM glows at how big her boy who she only sees on weekends and never actually parents has gotten.

GAG.
