I knew it was going to happen. Why does DH still get surprised at this kind of crap.
Ok…SS is coming for a visit for two weeks. One week with BM one week with us. (Military leave). Trying to figure out times, dates and destinations have been a nightmare because SS never tells the same story twice.
Anywhoo…At the last minute, SS told DH to pick him up at airport and take him to his moms. DH was supposed to pick SS up at airport last night and take him to BM’s. Two hours away. DH was excited to see the boy and was looking forward to the 2 hour trip with his son.
Well guess who shows up at the airport to pick up SS also? SS’s stepfather! DH was pretty disappointed. I asked how on earth two people showed to pick up the kid and DH just said that SS got his wires crossed over what was going on. BWAHAHAHA. I knew something like this was going to happen.
It is never easy when SS is involved. I have no idea how he is making it in the military.

You would think he could coordinate something simple like that right!! Its them being lazy and selfish not caring who went out of their way.
SD15 does this crap all the time. I know she is only 15 but she is an idiot! She will tell me to pick her up at whatever time and when I get there she is not there. She finally did it to DH so at least he knows that she is the problem.

Oh DH was just happy he got to see him for a few minutes and really sees nothing wrong with this. At least that is what he tells me. lol.
And he was so PROUD because SS wore his military uniform. Talked about how proud he was watching him at the airport and how everyone stared at SS because of the uniform and blablabla. And that when SS comes to stay with us, he wants him to wear his uniform so he can "show him off" GAG!
When he has nothing
When he has nothing legitimate to be proud of with his kid, he's going to latch onto anything he can. So after years of this kid being a screw up, having other people look at his kid in uniform...that seems like a big deal. He's never gotten to be proud of his kid before.

Believe it - the most he has to be responsible for is showing up at the right place at the right time in the right uniform. No kidding, that's what I was told when I was a young enlisted.
I find the attention whoring with the uniform disgusting, btw. It's a fucking job, he's getting paid, and there is NO REASON for him to wear a uniform traveling (or otherwise) on leave. It's bullshit. It may be against regs, too. I'd ask dtzy - isn't your SS Air Force? I'm pretty sure it's Not Right for Army to pull that shit.
