Comments On The View - Elizabeth Hasselbeck On Erin Andrews

Elizabeth Hasselbeck’s comments on Erin Andrews about the wardrobe on Dancing with the Stars haven’t endeared the “View” co-host to many. Hasselbeck made some comments to the effect that Andrews' stalker wouldn't have needed to invade her privacy if he could have just waited to see her outfits. It would be an understatement to say these remarks were insensitive. It will take more than short term installment loans for a truckload of mouthwash to wash the taste of foot in mouth after this thing.

Elizabeth Hasselbeck and her remarks on Erin Andrews

May fourth, which was a Tuesday, Elizabeth Hasselbeck said on the View that Erin Andrews’ “Dancing with the Stars” outfits were all too revealing. Rather than just saying something to the effect of “her outfits are just a little skimpy” and then moving on, she decided that she's the fashion police and that it is acceptable to joke about the Erin Andrews peephole video event and while everybody watched in horror:

"as inexcusable as it was for that guy to go in and try to peep on her in her hotel room ... I mean, in some way if I'm him, I'm like 'Man! I could've just waited 12 weeks and seen this,' a little bit less, without the prison time!"

(This was from the Huffington Post). I guess sense and class can’t be bought, regardless how rich you are. Ironically, those who are rich forget to display it often.

Erin Andrews isn’t amused at all

In response to Elizabeth Hasselbeck, Erin Andrews declared her remarks a “slap within the face to victims of stalking and sexual predators” after she appeared on Dancing with the Stars.

Elizabeth Hasselbeck throws in her apology

Elizabeth Hasselbeck apologized for her remarks on Wednesday May 5. She even got teary eyed during the apology. She does seem legitimately sorry, but some are likely to cynically assume that she's only sorry because she got in trouble, not because she actually did something wrong.

Where should the line get drawn?

The fallout of Elizabeth Hasselbeck’s Erin Andrews remarks will run its course and will be forgotten soon. In the grand scheme of things, she put her foot in her mouth and has realized it. Although nobody should feel like they can’t say what they think, some things go just a little too far.
