Vacation Officially Over :(
The last 17 days without the steps has been glorious. No one yelling "Daaaaadddddyyyy!" No one banging on our door at 6am on the weekends. No one competing to sit next to my husband. No one complaining that our unborn baby will be getting 2 full-time parents. No one coming into my house acting like everything belongs to them. DH and I even went on a 6 day vacation during that time. But as we know all good things must come to an end.
Now, 17 days is not a normal length of time to go without seeing them. We were supposed to keep them for a week during the Christmas break but of course BM "had plans." Her plans were to immediately drop off the steps at her mother's and not pick them up again until last weekend (presumably because they had school this week). Did I mention BM is a TEACHER?! She was also off of work!
No wonder these kids are soooo needy when they get to our house. Maybe if their POS mother would spend a little quality time with them they wouldn't rely on DH to shower them with never ending attention. I can already feel my body beginning to tense up at the thought. I think this weekend will be a good weekend to allow myself half a glass of wine.

So SD9 just informed DH that
So SD9 just informed DH that she was invited to a sleepover this weekend so I suppose we have an additional break from her, which is fine with me since she is the biggest handful. We still have SD5 and SD11. I have mixed feelings about this though. LAst time she had a sleepover on DH's time she called him the following weekend crying that she missed him and of course he drove the 2 hours to go pick her up for the day. I told him that if he is going to allow her to skip her weekend he needs to tell her she does not get to call him next weekend crying and giving him a guilt trip.
