*Update: Telling SD stb12 she's going to be a big sister
It went...fine. Actually better than fine. We told her after I got off work and had dinner together. A big part of our message was that while things are going to change she's still loved. I wouldn't say she was over the top enthused, however there were no tears or pouting. She had tons of questions; did we know if was a boy or girl yet? When's it going to be born? Can she teach it how to play soccer?
We then watched a movie, I took the following Sunday off so we could have a family day. No silent treatment,pouting or tears the next day either! We went to the zoo, had lunch at an Oyster bar (I had cooked food), SD tried an oyster for the first time. She liked it and told DH and I we would all have to come back in six months "so sunflower can have some too" (I love raw oysters). We rounded out the day watching the final World Cup game.
We didn't tell BM. The whole point of us texting her would have been to give her a heads up if SD took the news poorly. We did get a text Sunday night, around 9:30 (DH has told her not to text that late unless it's an emergency involving SD), saying;
CONGRATS on new baby!!!!!! I'm sooooooo excited for you both!!!!!! Please give sunflower my BEST!
I thought it was a bit over the top, but at least it's not a rant. Of course, when she was told we had gotten engaged and getting married she responded well too. It took about three weeks before crazy started showing and then built up to the date. I'm just happy SD is taking it well.

Yeah, waiting for the other
Yeah, waiting for the other shoe to drop.
I completely agree! That's
I completely agree! That's why I'm mostly disengaged from BM. She's just not a good person. Granted in not going to like anyone who treats my DH like she does. I've met her once and communicated via email with her twice in almost three years. She's not someone I want to be around and I don't have to. I'm sure she talks plenty of smack about me and DH to SD. In fact I'm fairly certain that's why she wanted to go through our wedding photos (didn't happen).
