we've recently hit some financial issues and may have to cancel our planned vacaiton. if we hadn't already told both skids about it, this wouldn't be an issue. but we did. we sat them down and explained that it might not happen but we would try our best to make it happen. sd12 was very understanding. all she asked was if we cant go this year, can we take whatever money we saved and put it toward a vacaiton next year. we said of course. ss9 wants and answer now. i know its hard to understand for younger kids; we tried to explain it to him in different ways, but he is so sad he just cant seem to understand that there is still a possibility we go. can anyone help me come up with a way to explain this to him? it wouldn't be for 4 months, so there is plenty of time to decide.
