It just dawned on me last evening while we were all sitting and watching a movie that lately ss16 has been doing a lot of things for dh and me and it almost seems like he is looking for my approval and praise. I don't know for sure b/c in the years I have been with dh and ss, ss has not cared less what I think. So why now? The clues are that he's been sitting on the couch by dh to watch tv sometimes and I catch him looking at me after he's said something that he thinks is so smart. In my opinion we are reverting back to how he used to be which was he and dh would carry on a conversation amounst themselves, dh saying something and ss replying with a smartass comment or even a corrective comment, slyly making dh look like he knows nothing and ss knows so much. I am guessing it completely teenage behavior, kid thinking he knows so much more then parent, but why would he always be looking at me? Is it to see my reaction? I don't know but this behavior is annoying me. Dh seems to love what he calls nice family time sitting and watching tv together but I actually hate it, I wish ss would just stay in the rec room or his bedroom 24/7 even though I know he can't but his presense is so annoying, he's always cracking his knuckles, changing positions from sitting to flopping onto his side, to being on the floor and then (literally) hanging upside down on the couch. DH always thinks it's cute, I think it's very childish. Anyways, just complaining today.
