There have been times where DH and I joke that it'd be really interesting (for our own curiosity, not necessarily any good reason) to see what goes on in BM's phone. We know she has over 12,000 texts going in and out each month on her phone bill.

BM got a new phone last week. She gave her broken version to SD6...

When we picked SD and SS up yesterday, the first thing SD6 did was to show us "her" phone that mommy gave her. We didn't think much of it at first because she made a point to say it is broken and doesn't turn on, that it's just a play phone.

Well...it DOES turn on. SD6 was messing around, pushing buttons, and suddenly it turned on. DH and I both gave each other a knowing look - both thinking that BM would be smart enough to delete her crap from it, right? Wrong. SD starts playing with it, clicking buttons, etc. We are kind of watching over her to see what she's getting into. Suddenly she's in a text conversation screen and there are little icons/pictures that you can open up. DH quickly takes it from her and says he'll "reset" everything so that she can play with it. She was satisfied with that answer...and DH takes the phone to the bathroom. When he gets out, he tells me that they were pictures of BM's ex boyfriend's genitalia!! He said there were some pictures of BM on there too but nothing too risky. But they were straight-on shots of this guy's junk.

We peaked through some of the other texts out of curiosity and sure enough, she's stringing along about 5 guys at a time and seems to be sleeping with atleast 2 of them regularly...and when the picture-sending ex comes into town that'll be 3... and we confirmed that she plays DH and SD6's bioological dad against each other every chance she can. I know it was wrong and an invasion of privacy, but who can say that they wouldn't do the same here?

The alarming part is why would BM leave that stuff on there for her daughter to possibly see? I suppose she may have truly thought it wouldn't turn on...but then why not remove the battery just to be sure? Now DH wants to bring something up to BM about this. How dumb can she be??? Give your 6 year old daughter your old phone that has "sexts" on it that include graphic pictures? What do we do?
