So I need some advice. I became a stepmom very young I was 18 going on 19 my s/o was 28 and his daughter was 9 months it was very hard her mother was a disaster. I helped him go to court and get joint custody she hated me from day 1. But we have been together going on 5 years and my step daughter will be 6 things have gotten easier with her mom but I think she tries to use her daughter to get to my s/o she tries to say she asks why they arent together but shes 5 when we talk to my sd she says she asks her mom why she cant go with her dad and she tells us she wants to stay with us. We have her friday-monday every week and I dont know how to go about explaining the situation to her. We know her mom doesnt show her the affection we do. She has a son by a different guy and she calls when my step daughter isnt listening because im the only one she really listens to and one day she says " I love my daughter but she has both parents and my son only has me" it broke my heart because I know my sd feels the difference. I need advice on talking to my sd about all of this ive tried to have my s/o do so but he avoids it. I dont want her growing up angry because of the stuff her mom feels her head with. We have a good relationship and I dont want that to change.
