SS had 3 Pairs of Underwear in two+ weeks of laundry

step off already's picture

SS13 lives with us full time other than his EOWe visits with BM. I have stepped WAY back in asking him to do chores, clean his room, etc and have left it to DH to deal with. Yes, I "remind" DH often what needs to be done and I nag my own three kids as usual.

Anyway...my routine with laundry and bed sheets is that I ask the kids to bring their hamper and/or sheets down, I'll wash them and then send them back up for each child to fold and put away. I will ask SS13 one time only. I will ask my children more than once if necessary, but I don't remind/nag SS13 anymore as I'm tired of being "the mean one".

So, I suggested to DH that he ask SS to bring his clothes down since I know I hadn't washed any of his clothes in over a month. Now the boy has more clothing than anyone in the house so it was very possible that he'd worn everything so I was expecting an overstuffed laundry basket.

But what does he come down with?

A laundry hamper, one third full of clothing. I showed it to DH and laughed, saying that I know the boy likes to wear the same clothes over and over again, but that this was riduculous.

So Dh got him to try again and he was able to fill it up half way.

When I did the laundry, I found a whopping 3 pair of underwear in their. For a month!

I told DH and DH went and spoke to him. Apparently those THREE underwear are the only one he likes so he just wears them over and over.

The next day I went and bought him a new 10 pack of underwear and told him that unless he wants me digging through his things and shuffling his drawers like I do for DS9 and DS10, then he needs to tell me or his dad when he is running low on things.

YUCK!

What is it with these boys? My SS16 does this as well. The rule in our house is laundry is done on Saturday and sheets need to come down every week as well, if your laundry isn't in the laundry room it doesn't get done. We are on month 2 of SS16 not having his laundry done and I think year 2 of sheets being washed. :jawdrop:

It's got to be a boy thing. At 16, I was living in foster care. We weren't allowed to wash our sheets more than once a month. I used to sneak a sheet in here and there every week to get them done more often because after a week, I couldn't take it. Probably a little OCD germaphobe in me Blum 3

I 'll take your nasty and give you nasty times 10.... SD15 hasn't had any toilet paper in the bathroom that she exclusively uses for 4 days now.

I know because I only use that bathroom once in a great while if I am in a hurry and don't want to run upstairs to mine, so Sunday I go there and because I never use that bathroom, first thing I did before I got to business was check for TP.. none. Whatevs... not going to get it for her, so I just went upstairs to my bathroom. Every day since then I have checked that bathroom to see if she has replaced the toilet paper and nope... and none is missing from the linen closet that is literally an arms reach from her bathroom door and there are no kleenex in that bathroom either... so she is just a freaking nasty pig. Meh

I'll take your nasty and raise you again. SD had a stretch of time from ages 11 to 15 (after that she went to live with BM, so it could have been longer) where she didn't use soap when she showered! Ever. I'm talking never did I replace the soap in that bathroom and the same tiny dried up sliver sat in the soap dish in the bathtub. She also didn't change her underwear, but would put back on her dirty underwear after the "shower." :jawdrop:

Definitely a boy thing. SS14 wears the same socks for 4-5 days until they are dark grey and crusty/crunchy!!!! He stuffs them into the toes of his smelly-*ss shoes so I don't see them. He has lots of socks in his drawer
