DENIED!!!

We got a letter back from the court this past weekend, denying BM's motion to change custody. The letter states that my husband & BM should go back to mediation to reach an agreement (unless they can reach one on their own). If they cannot reach an agreement, it will go to court & the judge will decide one parent or the other.

BM is losing it!

BM sent us an email this week about "using SD8 as a go-between". LOL! Now that's the pot calling the kettle black! The email was very angry & accusatory. My husband responded to it last night, basically saying "What the f*ck are you talking about?!", but worded much more nicely. (We're being extremely careful with how we word things now, since we'll be going to court soon. We don't need to give her ammo.)

For once, something on the lighter side...

The other day, SD8 was telling my husband what BM got her for Christmas. I missed the conversation, so I later asked my husband what BM got for her...a snow tube. My smartass brain started spinning! Because over the summer, BM bought the girls tubes for the water. So I said to my husband, "Wow, BM sure has a thing for tubes. Too bad she wasn't thinking about tubes or anything rubber years ago!". I'm not sure how amusing my husband found the comment, but I thought it was pretty good. }:)

Sorry in advance that this is so long, but I've been writing it in my head for a while now. It's the reason I came across this site, looking for feedback, support, advice, etc.

In November, my husband & I made the difficult decision of not having his former stepdaughter (FSD), who just turned 11 in December, live with us every other week anymore. (For the complete how & why of this arrangement, see my other blog entry.)

Here's my story...sorry it's so long! I'm going to break it up into sections & add more as I go because it's just so overwhelming! Please leave comments because I'm really interested in hearing what other people in similar situations have to say about all of this. I've been reading stuff on this site for over a month now & it's been eye-opening. FINALLY other people that understand!
