DW travels every so often for work. During one of our discussions in which DW pointed out yet again that I am not supportive enough of SD15 and SS11, I reminded her that at least I watch kids when she is gone. In her riled-up stste, she pointed out that one time when she travelrd, I came home late (8:00) so I could fish for a couple hours with a friend after work, aIl I had done was to make sure they knew we had macaroni and cheese cups and roast beef from the previous night for them to eat in my absence.

Custody Investigator Report Update

In custody modification dispute, DW's exH requested a custody investigation and even had a specific custody investigator in mind. DW agreed. the 58 page report came back yesterday, and of all the points taken into consideration by CI, some were in our favor, some were neutral, and ZERO were in his favor. That's right, he was SHUT OUT by his hand-picked CI. Suck on that.

Ideas Needed

DW and I are currently involved in a custody modification proceeding with her exH. The custody investigator's recommendation is due out in one week. Skids currently are with us during the school year and exH during the summer. If the ruling is for the skids to remain with us the majority of the time, DW's lawyer feels strongly that the custody will remain substantially as is, ExH took it all the way through the trial process last time the custody investigator ruled against him, and we are guessing he will do it again.

Some things just suck.

BS stb17 is typical know it all teenager. Since I remarried and moved 40 minutes away, he is increasingly resistant to visit and miss out on all his high school friends' activities. A large part of this is depending time with his GF. They have been together a long time and sexually active for a long tome, but have had breaks where both were sexually active with either people. I have, in my mind, tried being accomodating to his needs regarding practices and events, and he drives himself often.

O/T Has anyone seen or heard one? What do you think would be a good one?

I just heard a Mother's day commercial instructing listeners to get flowers for all the moms in their lives- mothers, grandmothers, wives, sisters. The one I didn't hear was stepmoms. Maybe our society is so enlightened that it goes without saying. Maybe it is a sign of how outdated (or new to the situation) I am that I even noticed it. Running it through my head, it seems as if it would sound pretty contrived. Maybe something like, "Oh yeah, don't forget your stepmom , she's probably doing her best under the circumstances."

should this bother me?

I have been married to DW for six months. Live with SD14 and SS11 FT during school year If intrtested in details, read my entry in general forum from 4-1. For various reasons, I have stopped asking kids to do anything except take their dishes from the table. I occasionally encourage them to vomplete something DW has asked them to do before I will agree to do something for them. Sometes they finosh the task to get ehat they want, sometimes not. I leave it up to them. Anyway. 2 nights in a row I helped SD14 with homework since she had missed school.
