FDH found out today, after looking into the a recent medical bill that BM said he owed half of that, that it may not have been SS4 medical bill, it might have been BM's!

It was shady from the start and as much as I would love to give BM credit for taking $100 bucks from FDH, it may just have been her own stupidity at work.

So it started when BM told FDH that he owed her half of a $200 medical bill for a doctor appt. that S4 had in Sept., which that much was true there was a doc appt. in Sept. But both BM and FDH carry insurance out on the boys and we didn't owe anything for the doc visit back in June so I suggested to FDH that he get a copy of this bill to make sure that BM had them bill both insurances. FDH's first mistake was giving BM a check - made out to her no less before get the copy of the bill.

What BM gave him was not the bill - well it was the first page of the bill with no details! (red flag) Also the amount on the bill seemed high. It was almost 6 grand. And we had speculated in Sept/Oct that BM was having something done, one day at drop off she had a mark on her arm like she had blood taken.

By now FDH was like something isn't right so last week he calls the doctor billing place and talks to a very nice lady. He explained to her who he was and what was going on. They had all the records, BM had updated her information because it was all under her name and address, but they had his name and address on file. The lady talked to the doctor and made sure that FDH would get a copy of the results from the blood tests. She said there was something really odd with the account and it looked like there was still a balance owed even though FDH's check had cleared. The lady asked FDH to call back in one week.

FDH called back today but the lady wasn't working so he talked to some one else. This lady said that as of last week the accounts had been separated - meaning the boys now had their own account and BM had her own account. No money was owed on the boys account but BM owed money on HER account, that was all they could tell FDH. SO it may have been her medical bill that FDH paid half of!

He is going to call again tomorrow and see if he can talk to the first lady again before he calls BM about it. But isn't that like REALLY illegal? If it's true and we can prove that it wasn't SS4's bill, she has to give them money back - right? Or what?
