Need a reality check. I think. Maybe not.

DH sends pictures of SS doing things to BM.

Generally, it doesn't really bother me - because he is her son, after all.

But... sometimes it grates on my nerves.... because I feel like anything we ever do, she will have a copy. She will be in on it. She will be aware.

I tried explaining it to dh, that whenever he keeps her in the loop about what we do, that I feel like my privacy is being invaded. He tells me that no, it's for ss... and while logically I can understand that, I feel down to my very core that I hate hate hate that he does it.

I'm being petty, and I don't care. :-P

It was settled that BM would take ss for a portion of the evening, and that DH would get ss back for the rest.

I bought ss a costume at walmart a few days ago, in case BM decided to flake out again and we were caught unprepared...

dh texts me to tell me that MOTY didn't buy a costume, wants to borrow ours... dh told her fine, but she'll have to come get it after 5...she wasn't happy, she wanted him to bring it to her

I've been pretty focused on knitting socks for DH lately... he pissed and moaned all winter last year about it... and I told him I'd make him some for this year.

It's pay close at work so I've been pretty much just sitting here, knitting. My hands hurt.

I've only been working on them at work, on the commute, and when DH is out of the house - he hasn't seen me work on them.

His birthday is in a few weeks... I'll be able to give him about a dozen pairs.

aaannnnddd.....Christmas.

My kids' lists are very short.

Cash.

They want cold hard cash. Super, makes it easy for me.

I'll give them each 100$ and a few small silly things, and call it a day. No muss no fuss.

Asked ss last night what he wanted santa to bring him.... chocolate. Anything else? Ummm...a chocolate toy.

Well ok then.

Got an inflatable 12 foot pool on sale for 50$... picked up an extra tent (it's those connectable tent pods)... picked up a couple new games for the wiiu... picked up some bedroom decor stuff for my girls... an electric razor for my son...

short story:

Dad texts BM a few days before Saturday to see if he can pick up the kids early that Saturday (10am isntead of 2pm) because he'd like to bring them to a birthday party on SM's side.

BM says no problem.

BM texts at 9am Saturday and says Sorry, my mom's in the hospital, I'm going to take the kids to see her... so actually you can pick them up at 4pm.

DH says 3pm. Bm says ok. BM drops off kids at 3pm.

Dad and SM asked the kids how grandma was doing, how was their visit to the hospital... kids didn't know what they were talking about.

Nope, sorry, not gonna happen.

Hallowe'en - we have plans to take the kids out. This will be the last year my son does it - he's tall and patchy-hair-faced so this is it for him. We're going with some friends who have kids - there will be a group of us, about 18 of us (6 adults, the rest kids). We have a few stops to make that have already been put on the itinerary... some friends, some of my family, some of their friends/family... we have a small party to go to... and then we're going to check out some pumpkin carvings.

There was a fire in my office building recently.

We've all been displaced into another building... with limited tools/resources - basically, only our laptops.

There was a team who went in to get essential items... the only thing I asked for is the usb key that was plugged into my laptop.

Presumably, when they unhooked everything from the laptops to take them away to clean before giving them back to us, the usb key was unplugged, as was my mouse, phone charger, connection cable for my 2nd monitor, and keyboard...

was just told the key was not located.

Last night ss was being a little sh!t. The whole bit. Didn't want to do anything, didn't want anything, no's on everything, didn't want to eat, whiny whiny whiny.... uggghhhhh I hate that part of little kids.

Needless to say, I was running out of patience.

I went upstairs to grab a sweater, since it's getting cold, and head out to the garage for a smoke. That's my peace and quiet time.

I've been on a purge roll for a while - now we have a van full of stuff to take to a donation centre.

There's stuff from my kids, old stuff of mine, and a lot of ss's baby stuff... like one of those things you put on the ground with hanging tys and lights and music, that you put a baby under... a diaper genie... baby toys like those things you have different shapes, you whack with a hammer then flip over and whack them again... stuffed animals, old clothes etc...

It's not REALLY an issue for me - people everywhere do it all the time and it seems like an acceptable thing... but I HATE HATE HATE when males are too lazy to go use the bathroom and instead, decide to take a leak outdoors.

Ok so MAYBE it's an issue for me.

We're not camping, we're not out in the middle of nowhere... we're sitting on the deck, 10 feet away from a toilet... you just got up and walked 10 feet in one direction to piss off the deck into the bushes... could you not have walked the other way to piss in the can?
