And so the saga continues....

Since my last blog entry about BM asking child support services for a review, she has been notified of any changes to the child support order and in turn filed a Motion against DH stating that the "medical insurance is not reasonable".:jawdrop: We have talked with our lawyer about this and he states that it must have increased for her to cause a pain over it and no judge will grant her motion.

This still gives us a lot of stress and I cannot wait till all of this is over with. What is reasonable health insruance cost for a child in her eyes? Currently we are paying $175/month for SD10 as she has pre-existing conditions. Their divorce decree says she is responsible for insurance through the minority of SD10, which she has never done to this day. DH has always made sure SD10 has it and has incurred the cost without taking her for a review. Will this madness ever stop?

What??? So BM is taking your DH to court because her insurance that she does not provide is not reasonable in cost?

What planet is she on?

Well the state coverage we had for SD10 at a discounted rate ended and DH no longer qualified as we got married. She is saying that the coverage we obtained for SD10 at a rate of $175/month it not reasonable for health care cost. If DH was to add SD10 onto his work plan it would be over $300. He chose the lesser of two evils. This has obviously caused for her child support payment to increase as DH is the custodial parent and she does not want the increase.

OHHH - I see. Her CS was a certain amount because of state medical aid and now that you guys actually have to pay for insurance, her CS went up and she's mad.

Yeah, I think she doesn't have a leg to stand on. The judge will look and say, "OK, $175 a month or $300 a month. Can YOU get it cheaper BM??" If not, tough cookies. If so, then she can get credit on her CS.

Actually before all of this the original order was dated back to 2005 and had her paying medical of $55 per month. Since 8 months into that CS order, she has not paid for medical and while DH could have taken her to court for an adjustment he just let it ride. Now that she has called for a review, they are looking at all that we pay and saying it is unfair.
