I forgot a Skid quote from this AM.
My wife told him after the swearing in ceremony that she was proud of him.
He responded .... "Mom, I haven't done anything yet". :jawdrop:
Another jawdropping moment from my Skid. :O
I am so used to seeing him bask in the everyone gets a trophy praise for breathing that schools pump out these days that his comment actually surprised me.
Maybe he learned something of what his mom and I have been trying to engrain in him after all.
Time will tell.

He's darn right he hasn't done anything yet. I'll tell you something, showing up to be counted isn't sufficient to warrant a pat on the back and a paycheck. When are kids going to learn this?
I was asked the other day by one of my skids why I don't compliment him more often. I said "Because you don't do anything that warrants a compliment. If you want to be praised, do something praiseworthy."
