Happy 58th Anniversary to my amazing mom and dad.
Last week we took our first out of the house adventure in months. We took a short road trip to visit my parents for their anniversary. I have not seen them since March 1 and my DW has not seen them since mid Jan. Since early March I have been quarantined with the exception of a grocery store run every 2-3 weeks and my wife has been nowhere but her office and home in that time. This trip was challenging for my wife. She has not had any interface with the public and has not been out and about at all. She was notably tense the first couple of days of the trip, particularly when we went out for meals.
As my dad likes to say, my DW and my mom are "two peas in a pod" and have a very close relationship. Mom and my bride were hip deep in projects for nearly the entire trip. Quilting and turning the drape panels that DW bought for our windows until she decided on shutters into pillows to bring those colors into the design plan she worked out with the interior designer. They were having a great time doing what they do when they are together.
Mom had her pace maker replaced two weeks ago and is doing great. They had to turn up her device as apparently they had failed to activate the exercise heart rate acceleration function. She was pretty wiped out after her daily exercise activity. But, she is doing great now.
Dad had a couple of biopsies during his recent Derm appointment, fortunately both were benign.
The four of us, and the one eyed dog, had a great 6 days .
I really did win the parent lottery. And the wife lottery. Good thing I played twice. The first one I crashed and burned. But this one is looking good so far.
Once again, my parents confirmed that my DW is the daughter they never had. Good thing they like her so much, I think they tolerate me so they can see her... and their grand son.

I hate that we now have to wait a whole year to see the sequel. I understand it - but I'm not happy about it.
