In addition to my SS14, who lives with me and DH full time; DH has (by exes other than SS14's horrible excuse of a BioMom) 3 Daughters.

SD24 lives in Utah and is doing well trying to make her way in the world. She has grown to be a impressive young lady.
SD21 lives in Nebraska; has a two year old baby; and is struggling to make ends meet on her own; BUT is trying. She calls her dad at least twice a month. They have a pretty decent relationship. I am proud of her.
SD18.....SD18....Oh dear. She is one messed up kid. She has been struggling for years; cutting, depressed. When SD21 got pregnant and had a baby she took it as an affront to HER because she was no longer the Baby. Then she started up with a thug wanna be...and got pregnant at 17. Lost the baby and got pregnant right away again. She just turned 18 this month. She graduates High School this year; IF she can finish with the pregnancy.

DH was looking forward to child support ending for her when she turned 19. But in Nebraska the age of emancipation is 19. We have another full year to go. He is very upset about this. He feels like it is his fault for getting the years wrong (we were making plans on what to do with the money when the support ended this year).

I keep telling him that it is what it is; and the light is still there at the end of the tunnel. The one thing he must never do is show the frustration to SD18. She already has a "I Hate Dad" attitude. No fuel needs to be added to that fire.

SD21, SD18 and GB2 (grandbaby holy crap!) will be visiting after Christmas. This could be interesting. I must stock up and hide several bottles of vodka in my office and bedroom.
