On pins and needles....

PeanutandSons's picture

I probably wont get the info until much latee this morning, but i am almost sick over the thought of the coming fall out.

Ss's School starts around 9, i think. So add in time for the principal to review the referal, to call ss to the office, interview him, tye victim and witnesses....then call dh. I imagine dh will get the call around 10ish. Then he has to drive over tk the school (he went to work this morning...???) So add another 40 minutes....then dealing with the school.

So I should hear about lunchtime what fresh hell is coming our way.

I just went and read what happened. I am so sorry. Do they have an alternative school he can go to if he is kicked out? I hear Fork Union Military Academy is quite nice this time of year }:)

((hugs)) Maybe you will luck out and he will only get suspended.

Know what your going through and I'm sorry your having to deal with this. We will be here supporting you in any way we can. Did your DH ask SS for his side of the story yet? I hope this behavior of his gets nipped in the butt asap. Hang in there!

This stuff drags out. We didn't think SS would ever get into a treatment program. Have your DH start pushing for an RTC now, b/c it can take a while to get all of that done....well where we live it was a 10 month process involving courts.

My husband (who works as a bus driver) says that it will most likely result in expulsion. I'd start looking into schools for troubled kids...

Oh my, I just read what happened yesterday! What a little brat. The school is not going to have much of a choice but to suspend. In my district, stabbing someone with a pencil is a direct violation of the Code of Conduct and would result in an immediate 5 day suspension, pending a superintendent hearing in which additional suspension would likely result and referral to the ALC (Alternative Learning Center.. which is where I work) However, in my district we are only required to provide 1-2 hours of tutoring per day for suspended students so he may be stuck at home with you for an extended period of time.

Of course his previous discipline records will play a role in this... has he been in trouble before? I'm guessing if he stabbed someone with a pencil, this is not his first rodeo with discipline referrals. Sad Sorry

This is his third fight. He got a warning for the first.....a 5 day in school suspension for the second.

DaizyDuke's picture

We that may be good, as your district sounds more lenient than mine in that fighting in school would also be a violation of the Code of Conduct (violent and disruptive incident) and would have resulted in the same 5 days out of school suspension with superintendent hearing.

Unfortunately if he has already been in three fights and now this, the school, lenient or not is going to be forced to bring the hammer down on him soon. Isn't this kid like 9? Man, scary to think what his future holds. Sad

UGH... still too young to be acting like this! What is he going to be like when he is 15, 16? Sorry, you are having to deal with this. Sad

I have no idez how an out of school suspension will worm logistically.

But he sure as fuck wont be with me. I work full time out kf the home. Im not wasting my vacation or sick time to sit home with his ass, nor can he come to my job. Ill most likely be stuck with him on Friday (I work four 10s,, so off every Friday) And I have him with me every Saturday anyways while dh works.

Dh has Mondays off......but where he will go to be supervised Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of a suspension week, I have no idea.

This kid has a knack for avoiding consiquences, so who knows. Getting a bit concerned that its almost 11 my time and no call from dh saying hes on his way to the school.

Honestly, im hoping he gets in enough trouble that people wake the fuck up that something serious is going on/ wrong with tbis kid. Tbings have been brushed aside, and excused away for far too long. Sometimes I feel like I am the crazy kne because I am the only one who sees it. Ivebeen warning about this behavior since he was in third grade, but I am blown off and told im over reacting, I just hate him, all kids a,t this way and ill see when bs4 is older, hes just misunderstood etcetc.

Sadly, between him and sd..... He is the good one. In my opinion, sd's issues are far far worse.

PeanutandSons's picture

See, I tbink that's how ss avoids real consiquences so well. He doesnt have that hardened mean look....or personailty really. Hes slightly small for his age (size 10 and hds about to turn 12) and he is very very immature. Goofy, with the undertones of jerk. Znd he cries at thedrop of a hat, like wailing hes being murdered if he gets a shot or if he trips and falls.

So he looks pretty pathetic when hes in trouble with the puppy dog eyes crying like a six year old.

Geesh, and look how well it works for him. Makings of a dang sociopath right here. I know it will totally suck for you if the school goes hard on him, but they really NEED to, and let me tell you, if MY kid was the one who got stabbed, you better believe I would be breathing down the school's neck to bring swift and adequate punishment down on this kid.
