So it's raining... a lot and pretty damn cold outside and BM sends SD to school in..... SANDALS!!! BM has 2 of the 3 pairs of tennis shoes that I had for SD. Also, as far as I can tell she has NOT purchased ANY winter apparel for SD!!!!! AND! she sent SD to school last week wearing a crocheted? sweater (the kind that is bunch of holes and is basically decorative) that she bought her 2 years ago... when she was 2! SD is tall for her age and is currently wearing a size 5. Since we have her more often than not, and of course she is with us this weekend, the jacket I bought her and the tennis shoes I bought are where? BM's house. Stupid dumb f***ing b****. This is YOUR kid, NOT MINE. Act like it for f***s sake!

And I'm done, needed to get that out so I didn't explode on DH and SD.

This happens a lot in my dynamic too. I've had to let it go.

Clearly, tennis shoes and boots are the more responsible choice in poor weather. But unfortunately some people don't care/think that way.

However, I would not want someone coming into my home telling me how to dress my kid/skids, whether they were dressed appropriately or not. It's stepping over the same line as in food they eat while they're at the "other" home. It's dangerous territory.

That being said, I totally understand the need to vent this. It PISSES me off too sometimes, especially since I was the kid that didn't have weather appropriate/ clothes that fit. Hopefully if it gets too cold and she's still wearing sandals the school will say something to BM.

I know this is a constant struggle for most step families, I just think it is ridiculous. I was pretty amped up about a few things yesterday so I told DH. He mentioned to BM that it was "probably past sandal weather". BM disagreed. Whatever, I give up. I refuse to send SD anywhere in clothes that are not weather appropriate. We will just have to go get the tennis from BM when I run out... again. Ugh. She's only 4, I can only imagine what it will be like when she a teenager.....
