Tic Tic Tic... SS20 will be a SS30 couch surfer??

Silly vent needed.

So now 2 years have gone by since SS20 #1 and SS20 #2 twins graduated high school. SS20-1 is in College - as any normal young person.

SS20-2... well that's a story that I will explain in a list, that might not even be complete:

  • Graduated  2022
  • Did not apply to any college or community college - no interest
  • took a few months off
  • got a part-time job and then failed at many part - time jobs
  • enlisted in the army - failed to go when it was time.
  • kept working odd jobs and losing them (SO always blamed the supervisors)
  • got a 2 hour certificate as a unarmed security guard
  • got a security officer job - lost the job due to tardiness (which I called out several times and was shunned by SO)
  • his idea of a job was to be a bouncer - so got a bouncer job at the most risky club in the city...
  • Signed up and dropped out of community college 3 times - couldn't keep up with film and acting classes!
  • after 6 months bouncer job was put on freeze due club remodel during the summer- SS20-2 says he's going to wait for club to reopen in the fall... so he's not willing to pickup another job...
  • with all this free time... he decided to write a short film script... but SO was his typing secretary SMH
  • on and off in several MMA academies around the city
  • at some point expressed he wanted to be cuddled and coddled forever - that adult life was hard
  • told his BM she and my SO had to support him $$$ because that's what parents do with their child - mind you a brat that since 15 has insisted he is his OWN ADULT MAN and even called his twin a manchild
  • Decided to signup for police academy to start in June, no wait August, no wait now October....
  • his car needed maintenance, SO made him come home to take the car together to the shop (let him learn and be independent!!!)

So here we are with an SS20 just lazying around self-justifying why he's not working and studying. At least he's living with BM. I called out SO on this... 2 YEARS and SS has accomplished NOTHING!!! SO said they have a plan which is Police academy, and I need to understand his ADHD and Dyslexia!! Which I've heard now for 8 years as an excuse for lack of motivation and hyper laziness; and lack of parental structure and requirements.

The other day we went to an event with friends, and there were friends from out of town. One of them asked SS, at dinner, about his plans, and career future... SS managed to answer that he wants to win big in the lottery!!! I called it out to SO a few days later and SO said "Isn't he so witty, right?" I secretly rolled my eyes, vomited in my mouth and just smirked and walked away. Can a parent be so blind???

Also at that event SS was eager to help pickup after the event ended, he said: "I like being useful and helping people". Next day at my house, he ate, left his damn plate in the sink... so much for liking to help people!

Ugh what gets me is that with all this Soft Disney parenting, we might have a 30 yo bum on our couch... him on couch, me out!!

is SD a transitional to male?

What a crock. Like SD18 Princess Powersulk Do Nada goddess of sloth our lady of inertia.

Except theres not even been any talk about anything.

Bet SO liked the show of "being helpful". Same with husband. PPSDNGSOLI wiped the counter and the stovetop was cleaned (2 from my task list from last week)

I am so frustrated I used SD instead of SS... LOL...I am going to edit it....

I know many people think that SPs don't understand that these children come from divorces and bla bla bla.. I am a child of divorce myself, but never had this stupid hyper-entitled attitude that these spawns have.... and I have a great life and career... makes me wonder...

Disney parents are as delusional

I'd be d@mned if I had to deal with same old skid issues in my home after 18/high school.....nope!!!....get tf out and go freeload /disturb the peace at your breeders home (the one who raised you like that can deal with the consequences)

no couch surfing leeches allowed

idk why the visuals of the cardboard box is sending me over the edge lol

Youre right these overgrown spawns WILL figure it out once they've been detached from Disney daddy's b@ll sac and beastly breeders umbilical cord

The excuse culture is incredibly strong in the COD, SKid, syndrome of the moment world.  Parents and kids grasp for the excuse of the moment rather than driving progress.

Even my bride struggled with it a bit when SS-32 was engaging in a blessedly short career as a sofa rodeo rider holding our sofa down after HS graduation. "What do you want me to do???"  I told her to do something or I would and no one would like it if I had to.

So, she went chore list from hell on him and we worked that kid's ass off for 8mos starting the day after his 18th B-day until we dropped him off at the MEPS center to leave for USAF BMT.

Fortunately my DW is not about excuses.  I could not be in a marriage to a failed parent who spouted never ending excuses for their shit spawn's escapades.  COD, ADHD, DIslexia, Alphabet soup syndrome of the moment, etc......

Nope, all excuses. Some are legit conditions but even in those cases they cannot be tolerated as an excuse for crap performance and failure to launch.

IMHO of course.

Exactly!

Maybe having a condition does not allow for a brain surgeon or rocket science career, but it sure does allow for many types of trades that do not require so much science, math, writing... but nope... all excuses to avoid community College, trade school or a full-time blue collar job... and justify and cover up laziness, entitlement and lack of motivation; and justify supporting $$$ the spawn.
