Wait... father's day isn't about SD!?!

My DH is working today so I went and let my daughter pick out a balloon for dad and I got him a card and I grabbed a big tray of cupcakes for his whole crew and headed out to see him. I told SD12 yesterday and she made no effort to make, get, or ask me to help her get ANYTHING. So we show up at his work, She looks like a freaking slob, my daughter and I are dressed up a bit. We gave him the stuff and my DD3 says, "Happy daddy's day, daddy!" SD12 sits there with her lip poked out because she is getting 0 attention. DH gives her a hug and she still doesn't say a word. Everyone was saying hi to me and DD3 but understandably no one wanted to approach lil miss pouty. No one old her she was cute, no one offered her anything. Daddy was busy and paying attention to the people who were making an effort. My DH is just over the teen tude so when she's in that mode he just ignores it. His last job everyone gave her LOADS of attention and I know thats what she was hoping for. But he was moved when he changed positions so no one really gave a shit. Because, *GASP* HIS job and fathers day aren't about you SD!
She pouted and cried the whole way home because "it was stupid". And apparently she did say happy father's day but no one heard her.... Riiiiiiight.

Oh, yeah, we get that "I DID say it" belligerent whine all the time.

It was a lovely morning and I just kinda shook my head and said "whatever!"
Even my DD who JUST turned 3 told her "Knock off the attitude SD12!"

BTW, my SD14 declined to go Father's Day shopping with me. She said she'd draw him a picture instead. She is a talented artist so this is not too bad.

When she and DH came home about noon today (it was their regular shift at the cat shelter), SS12 and I had cake, balloons and gifts ready for Dad. I managed to get in a whisper to SD14, "Is your picture ready?"

No.

So she went in her room and came back out with a plastic soup container and said, "Here's your present. It's a bug."

Except not really.

The container was empty and she knew it. So I thought she would go in her room after cake and whip up the drawing.
Nah, she's just playing games.

(P.S. Not that I would prefer the bug to actually be present, but the announcement that she put NO THOUGHT WHATS0EVER in to Father's Day couldn't have been clearer.)

Wow... that's pretty bad. I almost feel that giving a piece of trash (empty soup container) is worse that giving nothing. Lol! Bravo SD!

All nice things I said about DH I now take back. He came home and ran in to see how she was. She then told "Daaaadddddyyyyy, Newbie left meeeeee in the caaaaaaarrrr." Omg, wtf. I needed to grab one thing so I left both girls listening to a CD(so the car was RUNNING) for 5 minutes tops.... But now I'm the bad guy. "SD was just excited" apparently and then I got glared at and scolded for leaving the poor dear in the car. Whaaaat she is 13 in a week... F U DH. F U VERY much!
