Sorry to blog hog, but this was just adorable.

BM texted tonight to comment on DH being willing to drive from the airport to her house (about 3 hrs) and back. She said it was a huge amount of driving, and would he be willing to meet halfway? She went on to say that she knew that he really really wanted to meet the new stepdad and see SS's new house, but that she thought he'd be hitting a lot of traffic.

Last year BM cancelled visitation three times. First time she said she got a flat tire and missed her flight, second time she said she couldn't afford it, so I sent money to pay for airfare. Third time she just said she was afraid DH would steal SS and take him to Mexico, and that she wasn't comfortable with SS coming for visitation at all.

So when we wrote the parenting plan for the CO, I specifically wrote that it would be the sole financial and physical responsibility of DH to get SS for the start of visitation, and the sole financial and physical responsibility of BM to come get him and take him home. The reason I did this is because I wasn't going to trust her or any member of her family to transport SS to us, because of what happened last summer.

So the fact that she thinks he's willing to do all that driving because he just HAS to meet new stepdad and see her newly bought house out in the middle of nowhere is just... cute.
