Only if you go to court, make your case and convince the Judge that visitation with you is in the best interest of the Skids.
As a Step you have no legal rights but are held to the highest standards for the wellbeing of the child(ren) when they are in your care and custody.
If you have a history of being hightly involved and participatory in the Skid's lives you MIGHT get some level of court ordered visitation.
But, don't hold your breath.
IMHO of course.

Success is rarely final. Failure is rarely fatal. It is character, courage and consistency of effort that count. Vince Lombardi (with some minor Rags modifications) To each according to their performance, screw Karl Marx. (Rags)
Yep, no rights at all - I read on a forum about a woman with one child of her own, living with hubby & his kids. The husband died & BM came & swept all the kids away - she said her son was devasted because in one fell swoop he'd lost his father & half siblings.
TheFrizz would come riding in on her jetpowered broom and clear SD out immediately then she'll probably try to fight me in court for half DH's/My estate "for SD's sake". The will states I get it all but she's a big enough ass to try and dispute that.
"Venting without the desire to look within and improve your situation is simply venting to hear yourself bitch."
I've often wondered the same thing. After pushing 10 years of being very involved in my SDs lives I would be devastated if I lost my DH AND lost SDs too. I think maybe, just maybe, BM would allow me contact with SDs if no other reason than to allow me to spend the life insurance money on them. Seriously. How sad is that? I would take whatever I could get with them though.
Nope...no legal rights,,,,but I can tell u this....as CSM...I would definately spend every dime I had petitioning the Court for continued custody of my DH's minor children....of course u all know I have a non-exsistent BM, so who knows if she could even be properly served...LOL..."oh well"
A mother is not defined by the "b" or the "s" in front of her name, she is defined by how she handles the "mother" part.....
