Two important facts:

1. SD5 is an extremely picky eater.
2. My DH's ex dislikes me and is historically passive aggressive.

SD5 was told recently by DH that she had to do better job eating the food that we prepare for her. She only likes very sweet and unhealthy things, and we are trying to introduce a reasonable amount of healthy food into her diet. When she stays with us, I prepare her school lunch.

BM's boyfriend is a "professional" photographer. Every gift-giving holiday (Xmas, DH's birthday, Father's Day) BM sends the kids over with HUGE photos that he has taken of them. These photos are hideous, and in ugly frames. More annoyingly, though, they are all set inside her home, in her living room, in front of her fireplace... The kids expect these photos to go up in our apartment. I do not want that! Currently, I hide them and everyone forgets but eventually I'm going to have to deal with this head-on. Any suggestions?

how do you keep the skids from trickling into your life when they aren't with you?

it is "our" weekend this weekend, a weekend free from sd5 and ss7. they were really bad last weekend, and then dh went away for work and i haven't seen him. i spent this whole week frustrated and confused about their crazy behavior last weekend, and I'm worried that I won't let my mind rest and enjoy the freedom of a child-free weekend.

Sometimes I feel like my entire marriage is one long negotiation over his kids, and in our alone time they are ghosts, disrupting the air around me so that i can't find peace.
