O/t worked myself too hard tonight.

For some reason my insomnia was so bad last night, I literally have not slept in 36 hours. Ended up passing out at work in front of customers. No sleep = low blood sugar that didn't come back up after eating. Scared the shit out of the other manager. Poor guy.

No I didn't go to the hospital, I knew exactly what happened and it was my own fault for taking a five hour energy shot and forgetting to eat.

Being hypoglycemic and an insomniac rarely works out well.

I just feel stupid about the whole thing, I'm smarter than this.

I really thought the 5hr one would be okay as it is pretty much niacin, b12 and the same amount of caffeine as a cup of coffee. And sadly, I work in food service, so it's against the health code for me to have outside food. =/

Oh, and I have only ever passed out once before, and that was when I had my first period that lead to low iron and blood sugar.

OMG Milhouse, I was 35 before I ever got that advice and it helped with the 'pressure' to sleep soooo much!! Now I've been learning about relaxation exercises. There are all kinds of different ones, I just have to be careful to stay awake while doing them lol! I learned that because of the insomnia I'm pretty much ready to sleep whenever my body gets the chance, which is why I need to keep my eyes open or sit in a chair during relaxation exercises. And I also learned that sleeping isn't very restorative when I'm all tense and cramped up, so if I have the choice of 30 minutes relaxation or 30 minutes nap, I choose the relaxation.

I am so surprised at how much it helps. Especially with the emotional part of being chronically overtired. Less panic and frantic re-calculation of how much time I have left to sleep and freaking out about what I have to do the next day.

Sigh. I've been dealing with insomnia in one way or another since I was 8. That's almost 30 years of useless 'chamomile tea' advice.
