I would love to smear this in BM's face...that her daughter is not perfect.SD19 was arrested approximately 2wks after BM's parents rescued her from community college & put her into a university with their megabucks. No one ever told us anything about it.DH went thru all kinds of hell about college $$ for SD19 & then BM & her family put her into university after DH even went thru mediation that cost us a few hundred bucks. I just LOL at BM & her enabling family...that they gave SD19 all the benefits of college life away from home & forgot that the main reason DH didnt want to send her to college is because of her addictions.BM told DH that she didnt want to deal with SD19 anymore since she is off the CS!They do get what they deserve.MIL tried to rescue SD19 numerous times this year..but obviously failed at enabling too!!

Ugh, a not so small reminder that I have YEARS of my teenage SD's drama to deal with yet. Well...I guess the bright side is now she's apparently made herself the Grandparent's problem. Let them take it on if that's what they think they want. They'll probably find out the hard way too....but at 19, the 'kid' is only going to change if she is motivated to...sorry for stating the obvious.

The girl is an adult. Mom really doesn't have any control over that anymore. My own daughter received a Notice to Appear (an arrest without being booked) for underaged drinking when she was 19 and she still lived at home. My punishment to her wat that she had to handle the court appearance, the fines, and scheduling her community service ALL BY HERSELF. If she failed to comply with the terms of her court ordered deferment, she would be arrested and it would become a part of her permanent record.

I can tell you that I can remember going to parties with my own friends when I was under the drinking age. I'm sure most of you have too.

True Dat! Didn't ever get caught but certainly did some partying under age. Guess I figured we were looking at the same old pattern of behavior as the rest of the entitlement monsters on here though...probably.
