I've read many articles on this-the daughter called the cops on dad.
Mom's bf or dh is a cop-they pushed it into court.
Dad refused to hand the phone over. The judge ordered for dad to keep the phone.

So much wrong with this. As a mom-if my daughter got nailed sending naked pix-I would tell her father to smash the phone and cancel her plan.

We took OSDs phone after she left our home on a weekend stay without telling us and walked (at night!) back to BMs. BM was out of town...she lives just 5-10 minutes away, but you have to cross some pretty major roads a couple rough areas to get there.

OSD was 14 at the time, I believe. Maybe 15...not driving yet. She took off because we made her eat dinner at the table with everyone, with no phone, and expected her to converse. Told her to quit picking her food apart into tiny bits and staring at her plate. Basically, expected her to behave like a normal, civilized human being at dinner. It was obviously punishing behavior meant to make her dad worry...and it worked, of course.

We pay for the skids cell phones, so we took hers back and turned it off for a month as a punishment. You think it stuck? Nope...two days later BM took her out to get a new phone. When DH objected, BM said that OSD wasn't wrong for going home...that "OSD knows what OSD needs" and that her punishment is that she now has to "pitch in" to her own cell phone plan rather than being on our group plan. We thought it was rewarding her for her bad behavior...but what do we know? Now she's 19 and doing nothing with her life. Dating a 30 year old waiter. Taking a couple online college courses and living in her mom's basement.

I read this story yesterday. I cant believe the law stepped in at all. When will people be allowed to parent their children again? We currently are holding SD14 phone hostage until she can stop lying to DH about who she is talking to on there. A top priority is to keep your children safe from predators. I cant rightly do that if the police are saying I cant take her electronics away without getting onto trouble. Jeez, what has the world come to.

I read this, it's ridiculous. I could see BM taking DH to court over something like that however that would never happen in our case, DH would NEVER take SD phone away it don't matter what she did. If he found naked pics on there he would never believe she did something like that someone must have sabotaged her. Oh the horror (eye roll).

I have a perfect SD just so everyone knows.... (sarcasm)

edited to add that BM has never and will never be the one paying for SD phone either, she don't pay for jack shit!!
