DH comes home last night, in a bad mood.

He works in agriculture & his crop this year is a diseased mess. He preemptively warned me that there would be less money this year for incidentals & that we would probably need to tighten up the budget.

No problem for me, I grew up poor, I can make it work.

Told him I suggest he speak to his greedy X and let her know that maybe he needs a break on the CS he pays. (prev post mentioned he overpays by $300/mo.)

STUNNED EXPRESSION on his face. but FUCK HER. If I have to buy less steak and more burger, can she not get a fucking job???

Here's what he can do:

1) He doesn't need to say anything to ex. He needs to stop overpaying by $300 a month.

2) He needs to find out how to file to reduce CS.

He needs to go to the AG office and file for a review of his status. After he files he needs to call once a week until they set him up with an appointment.
All they have to do is look at financial records, nothing the lazy ass bitch can do to fight it. But, after three years she can also request a review.

Completely 100% separate. But only because his family doesn't trust women after BM fucked him over so hard. His family recommended he get a pre-nup and I said F-U, I'll sign that shit and live a separate financial life.

It's sad because I'm actually great with money/finances (I work in lending for a credit union) and I'm way too proud to expect he give me anything. IF anything, we would blend our finances and be a better team.

Sounds a little like my house. I opened a personal bank account and my money goes in there. My idiot DH still hasnt realised. Just wonders why he has less money.

So glad I found this forum. Has given me some ballslately lol

LOL- the slow torturous death sounds better anyway. Oh he will NOT be paying her extra if we have to cut back on shit. Thankfully we don't share expenses, so it doesn't affect me directly. But if he has to suffer so should she.

He definitely needs to stop voluntarily overpaying. I can't believe he thinks it's okay for you to have to budget due to lower income, but BM doesn't. I'm sorry. This is really crappy.

I grew up in a ranching/farming family so I totally understand that income fluctuates significantly from year to year. Everyone has to make sacrifices when things aren't so good. But that's what sucks about these step situations.....BM doesn't have to make sacrifices.

You nailed it. It's a completely unpredictable financial situation that I can accept. But BM sits there and expects, expects, expects. But that's typical isn't it?

Let me get this straight, maybe I am slow today, because I can't even believe that your DH OVERPAYS BM $300.00 every month and then comes home and tells you that YOUR household will have to tighten it's belt??
