I'm not really sure why a little red flag never went up for us but BM was always the one to take SS4 to the dentist. We figured, cool she is actually being a parent... We were wrong.

BM said she took SS to the dentist when she had him for two months and mentioned to DH that he had some cavities. From the shit diet she feeds him and the total lack of personal hygenine neither of us were surprised by that. Because of some insurance issues we just told her we'd just take him when he came here.

We took him to the dentist today, lo and behold no cavities. Yay, right!? Too bad she failed to mention an abscess between his baby tooth and adult tooth caused by some sort of trauma that has a decent chance of causing damage to his permanent tooth if we don't have his baby tooth pulled soon. The abscess can also cause headaches, painful gums and in rare cases move up towards his eyes if it spreads. DH said he'd tell her about the procedure if she ever calls, she hasn't called since the pumpkin incident about three or four days ago. She just sucks so much, I can't even get over it...

Dentist said the trauma could have been anything, doesn't necessarily mean abuse though any dentist worth their salt would have noticed. We think BM either lied about taking him or just wasn't listening. Both are equally likely.
