I really think it's happened somehow. Most of you know SD (17) came to live with us last year. That has worked out really well considering the older boyfriend thing and the noise at night they were making. Those issues have been dealt with. So she's with her dad and I now. That makes me a mom figure to her - somewhat.

Then over the 4th, DH gets a call from BM's sister. Apparently they found out we bought a boat and BM's sister and her DH have a boat too. So they wanted to get together on the 4th at the lake. I carefully thought this out before I agreed and went along purely out of morbid curiosity. All the while on the way to the dock I told DH how much this sister of BM's has never said a word to me and when we do see each other it's a forced smile on her part and never a hello all the while she acknowledges only DH and never me.

So we get to the lake and meet up. I start asking DH who the older person is with them. I tell him I think it's BM's sister's DH's mom. DH tells me, umm no I think it's BM's mom. }:) }:-) Well, it turns out he's right - it's BM's mother. Thanks DH. Oh, happy day.

But you know what - I actually had fun! There was never any mention of BM and what she was doing for the 4th. So that was nice. I had made DH stop to pick up some beer along the way. An 18-pack. DH and I drank all but about 5 of them! That helped alot too. BM's mom talked to me quite a bit - a lot about going to the casino; the sister although she really didn't speak to me directly did look at me when I spoke and even laughed a couple of times at things I said. Then she said she wanted to meet up again sometime at the lake and she wants a boat just like ours. As they were leaving DH breathed a sigh of relief and said that he thought it went pretty good. So, I kinda feel like I've gained another family - BM's. So where is BM?

I told this all to my co-worker. It's just the two of us in my office. She looked at me like I was nuts and told me I deserved a prize!
