Fool me once..shame on you...fool me twice - shame on me

Ah...this saying seems vastly appropriate for step parenting. Or don't bite the hand that feeds you....

SS has PAS'd out of our lives for over a year now. He is 18 but we get the "privilege" of paying for him until 19 since he would not graduate high school till he turned 19. That being said, I don't see him graduating...he is taking sophmore English for the THIRD time and I don't see him passing it. The kids not dumb, just profoundly lazy.

So...back when SS did grace us with his presence..he liked to play both houses. Beaver loves loves loves to get dirt on us and would interrogate the kids as soon as their rear ends hit the car seat. SS would spew stuff about DH and I like Old Faithfull Gyser at Yellowstone National Park. He would get rewarded by Beaver with unlimited buying power on Amazon/Ebay.

Since SS peaced out a year ago..Beaver has no one to feed her intel other than SD. So, the pressure has been ramped up for SD to tell all and receive the covered unlimited buying power that was once reservered for SS.

At Easter...SD caved. She threw DH and I under the Beaver bus...

On Easter, SD was the only child at our house. My two were at their Dads. So, being the nice person I am, I made an Easter dinner that SD would like. We had crab legs, corn, sausage, corn bread. A good old low country boil. SD loves loves brownies. I had SD help me make brownies and away we went. Ate dinner, but that took awhile and SD didn't have time to eat her brownies. She decided to take some back with her to the Beaver den..DANGER WILL ROBINSON...DANGER WILL ROBINSON.

That did not go over well......

Rather than take the heat from Beaver, SD decided to tell her mom that we told her she was fat and that she didn't have the "right" body type to try out for cheerleading. OH boy..that lead to a text message from SS, calling DH fat, me a whore and a slut and how dare we body shame SD. DH also got a call from Beaver on how we are so very mean to SD and that I am a whore and mean nothing.

WHATCHUTALKINGABOUTWILLIS...uh yea..neither DH or I said any of those things.

What we did say was

SD you want to try out for high school cheerleading. We are fine with that,however, you need to be aware that most of the girls trying out wil have been in cheer for a long time. Also, you need to look up the requirements as we are pretty sure you need to have some tumbling skills. You may not have those skills (she doesn't.she can't do a cartwheel). If you are going to use this a substitute for pe class, you might want to have a back up plan.

Now..SD is overweight but we never say anything about it. However, I learned from SS...once you throw us under the Beaver bus, you will do it again. Thus, SD fooled me once....but unlike SS, she won't fool me twice. I have disengaged from SD...and I'm sure she notices. No more shopping, etc. I am nice and I am cordial but nope..not going to put myself in that position again.

Sucks for SD...cause I'm the one that usually does the all the "mom" kind of things her mom doesn't do. You know, like teaching someone to drive, etc. It has also cost SD a car when she gets her license as DH is now been bitten by her..and he learned from SS it will happen again. His motto is now, let Beaver pay and take care of it. (DH used to pay for extracurriculars and sign up the kids with no help monetarily from Beaver and in addition to the 1200 per month cs he pays)

Good luck to SD..BEaver is lazy and cheap. Beaver will not pay for anything and certainly will not take any of her precious nap time to do anything with/for SD.

Ugh, I don't miss those days. BM could bribe SS to do anything she wanted, lie to attorneys and judges, etc. He used to also lie to her about DH and then she'd send page long email manifestos about how awful DH is, blah blah blah.

So SD will be PASing out soon too, most likely.

Omg that gives me PTSD

I swear MSS would only come over just to get dirt to give BM. And it took DH forever to understand he could not speak freely about anything around MSS. I looked at MSS's phone and saw the actual non stop texting from BM and her SO interrogating MSS about every tiny details of what was going on at our house. MSS and Oss have been PAS'd for years now and YSS doesn't play that game....yet.

I will admit I just recently started wondering if pressure to spy on DH is what pushed OSs to stop coming over. He just ghosted DH and stopped responding to anything. No hateful messages or big blow out....he just stopped answering calls or texts. The few times DH did see OSs after that OSs would act cordial and kind but then back to no contact. OSs isn't a confrontational person so it would make sense he would just go MIA instead of be under all that pressure. I guess we will never know.

And I don't blame you one bit for stopping all extras for SD. I'm the same way....screw me once and you are no longer getting anythubg from me.

Honestly

sometimes I used to have some fun with SS....

Oh DH look at the new car I'm going to buy (shows a picture of a corvette)

oh I think we might take a vacation (insert any tropical destination you want)

and then sit back and wait for the fall out...Yea its the little things that keep you going..

This reminds me of a time

This reminds me of a time with Spawn, she wanted to audition for a solo in dance, but we told her she would need to get her grades up...solid D-F student. Spawn went and told Meth Mouth, and all her dance teachers we told her she could not try out for a solo! She didn't include her failing grades. Of course that resulted in another round of take DH to court. As for the dance studio I went directly to the woman running the dance studio and laid it all out for her that Spawn had flat out lied and that DH and I were fed up with being painted as horrible people. The woman running it was shocked and had no clue that Spawn was a solid D-F student, I even brought in Spawn's grades to show her. Because the studio had a strict policy if a students grades were that bad they would be suspended until they could show their grades were better. Spawn got a huge shock when she was sidelined at dance for a solid month until she got her grades up to C's...that was the first and only time Spawn was passing all her classes. Then she moved out and moved in with maternal grandmother and we never saw her again, but she never got a solo at the studio.
