OT-Future In Laws and BS 1st Birthday

Ok, so I posted a blog about my future in laws and Thanksgiving. So, pretty much they don't want to go anywhere for Thanksgiving and FFIL sent FDH a text saying that they were having Thanksgiving and if he doesn't want to come then don't.

Well our BioSons very 1st birthday is one week before Thanksgiving. I was planning on a small party with just family. Well, his family because my family lives 800 miles away. As of now, FDH isn't talking to his parents. I'm not sure how to handle this. Do we handle Thanksgiving as an isolated incident and continue with inviting them? But then I don't want his birthday to be uncomfortable...I don't know what to do, any advice?

I would go ahead and invite them for the birthday party. Put it on them. Take the higher road. You'll be able to sleep with yourself at night.

I think you're right. I'll let them make the decision to come or not. And if they mention Thanksgiving, I'll just tell them this isn't the time or the place to talk about it.
