DH is out of town for 2 days and SD won't shut up!
If you read my previous post of how SD11 refuses to speak when I'm in the same room with DH, this is a complete opposite scenario. Usually, when we are all in the living room eating or watching tv, SD will stare like a statue. Doesn't move a muscle or even blink an eye. When I talk, she doesn't respond, doesn't react, doesn't listen.
So, DH has been out of town for 2 days and SD is on a manic high--run-on sentences, mindless chatter about everything and nothing, talk talk talk. Even to the point where I was stressed and dealing with a 4 yr old BD having a toddler tantrum...I have a crying toddler, a hot stove with food cooking, and the phone is ringing. Yet, SD is standing in front of me non-stop saying, "Oh, don't you love my hair today? Look how my hair turned out! I just put water on it for 3 seconds! No...3 1/2 seconds and look at it!" Blah, blah blah, blah blah. Of course, it's "ALL ABOUT MEEEEEEE!" It's a sudden change of personality and a sudden acceleration of narcissism. She's always been self-centered but she's at a new high. It's just strange and completely out of character so I'm a little shocked right now. And not in a good way!

I totally can feel/understand
I totally can feel/understand your pain and irritation/frustration.
Temporary solution:
Find her lip gloss.
Replace the fluid in it with superglue.
When I talk, she doesn't
When I talk, she doesn't respond, doesn't react, doesn't listen

That's awkward. What does DH do when this happens?
VERY awkward!! DH does the
VERY awkward!! DH does the same fkng thing though. They both just stare and don't respond. That always ends up in a huge all-night fight between DH and I....me telling DH to force SD to respond when people address her and DH telling me to let it go and stop being so damn critical of everything. GOOD LORD I can't make any headway around here
She's definitely gas lighting
She's definitely gas lighting you. And DH is a mouth breather for not knowing that in POLITE society, you respond when you are being addressed.
I like the idea of having her play the "silent" game like she did when your DH was there. Or you can respond in one word "yep" "yep" "yep"
Or you can give it right back to her. Start chatting up a storm about things you supposedly like, mindless inane chatter that will bore her to death.
