SO is so close to finishing the agreement with BM. The big thing is child support is set. That means for one year he will pay X amount in child support to be taken directly from his check. In another year she has the right to request his tax information and then do what she will with it. That is perfectly fine.

One of SO’s bosses is quitting and he has put in for the position. He has a good chance of getting it. Really depends on if they promote from inside or go from another store. If he gets it that means he will get a pretty nice raise. On top of that VA is relooking at his disability claim. He is a combat vet with a couple of issues that do impact his daily life. That is one of the reasons he took this particular job at this location, and more so why he works nights.

If both of these things happen, which I know fully well may not, it’s going to be a HUGE help. If you’ve read any of my stuff you may have seen how I said that BM got pretty much everything in their breakup. SO had to completely rebuild. When he moved in with me we had a room for the kids but not even bedding for them. We went cheap but it still adds up. Beds, bedding, clothing, dresser for clothing, a few toys, a couple books, ect. Basically anything you’d find in a child’s room we found a way to get. Some was used such as the desk which was my roommates but try as we might we couldn’t find a bunkbed anywhere. Also with bedbugs becoming an issue I wouldn’t allow a used mattress in the house.

That one year if he gets VA or the raise will be enough to recoup quite a bit of those cost. It will do a lot towards making it possible for us to have a 3 bedroom place or replacing SO's ancient car. Right now we’ve got a little boy and girl sharing a room. Not bad for every other weekend and them being so young but it would be A LOT better if they had their own space. Then the car which keeps breaking down. About the only thing left is the engine and there's no way we can cover that. Of course that will wait till after the child support adjustment happens next year.
