How much does your man pay BM for child support?
My DH is hard on himself because he feels like he has to pay BM too much for CS each month. It leads me to wonder, how much do other men out there have to pay for CS? If you respond, please include how many parenting days he has and how many children he's supporting.
I'll start:
My DH has 169 days a year and he pays $185 a month for his one child, plus he has to maintain health insurance.

I did a CS estimate on the
I did a CS estimate on the court website for our area. Maybe yours has one
Do you mean that 185USD a
Do you mean that 185USD a month to support a child per month is not much at all or do you mean that 370USD a month to support a child is not enough? We do have to remember that this amount should be doubled by the person receiving it...if they don't work or have a good career, that is NOT the NCPs responsibility.
My SO has 3 Elem school aged
My SO has 3 Elem school aged children 2 girls and a boy. CS is almost $1000 a month and we do not pay alimony anymore since she lied in her discovery about kicking him out to move in her boyfriend (with the kids still in the house.)
My SO also provides health insurance and has to pay 50% of medical bills (Which we end up paying 100% because she never has money and we would never leave the kids sick or without medical care) BUT if they take medicine we have to split our portion out because we will never see the medicine back or she will never give it to them.
We also buy them clothing that we never see again. I have JUST recently started washing their clothes they come in and making them wear them home.....(because 75% of the time they and their clothes are dirty)
We also feed them a small meal or snack as soon as they come over and then a later dinner because she does not feed them lunch usually or they are in "trouble" with her fiance/loser boyfriend because they won't eat what he cooks. (The kids are picky eaters..and we are working on it but he makes them stuff they are not accustomed to)
I am just a jillion times glad that once I get back to working again she won't be getting any of my $.
visitation we get them EOW and Mon & Tues early evening/nights a week for 4 hours and thurs night over night. We plan our Wednesday's as skid free and EOW skid free....which I love sometimes..but I do miss the lil terrors sometimes.
400 a month for 1, has the
400 a month for 1, has the typical EOWd.. plus a couple evenings during the week and extended time in the summer and winter.. all of which he doesnt use. Is supposed to carry health and life, neither of which he has for her or even himself.
At least this was reduced from the 600/mo originally ordered. He makes less than 20k

Long distance NCP (1000
Long distance NCP (1000 miles) DH gets between 50-60 days/year. He pays $620/month for one skid, medical insurance, and ALL transportation costs.
What's worse is this was levied in 2002. We peeked at the state calculator, and it says he could be ordered to pay almost $1100/month if BM quits her job and the state lets her get away with it. (which, hell NO - we'd get a lawyer and have her earning potential assessed, as well as getting credit for insurance/travel costs)
If we consider August paid as it will be on Weds, he's got 21 more payments to make.
DH paid $1800 a month for 2
DH paid $1800 a month for 2 skids, carried insurance, and paid 50% medical. The medical costs ranged between $600 - 900 a month due to BM's hypochondria rubbing off on the skids. DH had EOW visits. BM got the tax deductions every year. Thank god CS ended 14 months ago.
£120 a month (converted is
£120 a month (converted is 189 usd). We have him 4 days/nights a month, 1 child. No health insurance needed in UK, no alimony.
Its peanuts but I am so pleased she doesn't get hundreds from him as she would spend it on herself.
$1k 2 skids, aged 10.5 EOW, 6
$1k
2 skids, aged 10.5
EOW, 6 weeks in the summer, e/o school break, and alternating holidays.
The $1k includes EVERYTHING because I put a stop to BM sticking her hand out for more money. If she had a job, I would feel differently about contributing more toward the skids. As it is, when BM sticks her hand out talking about 50%..., since she's not working I really figure she's asking for HER 50% and hell no.
1700.00 per month 1 kid 50/50
1700.00 per month 1 kid 50/50 custody SO carries medical, dental and vision for SD. Plus we pay 100% of anything extra that we decide on. Nothing in the CO about extra curriculars but if SO doesn't pay SD won't be able to do it because BM has no money :? Oh and she has no job and supports her live in druggie BF with the CS she gets.
$750 per month plus health
$750 per month plus health care and life insurance. One kid. COed 91 overnights, actually gets 0.
180.00 a week one kid. EOW
180.00 a week one kid. EOW visits. And Dh always end up paying for school uniforms, extra curricular activities & all sorts of other shit. But I don't care anymore, as long as the kid never lives here he can pay for the rest of his life.
It was $1000 per month for
It was $1000 per month for one kid, carry health insurance, maintain life insurance, and 50% of all extras as well as out of pocket medical costs. Zero nights visitation. (Basically only see SD when she wanted to see her father). Now that SD is in college, it's down to $500 per month, but he is required to pay 65% of college tuition (which is around $20k per year to DH) and still maintain the health and life insurance. I'm keeping my fingers crossed BM doesn't try to get DH to pay for grad school and this whole thing can end in one year!
BM and DH have custody of one
BM and DH have custody of one kid each and equal visitation (EOW) until recently (but we haven't gone to court for that yet)
DH makes very average money and STILL pays her $409 a month PLUS healthcare for both skids, because she quit her job making similar $$ as him to open her own cleaning business. She lies about her income, provides a less than consistent service and is always losing the clients she does have. She gets large EIC tax returns, free healthcare from the state for herself AND the kids, robs Uncle Sam, taxpayers, and DH and our family...in fact we right now have both skids FULL TIME and are still paying her while she lives in another State until we go to court for trying to take SD out of state without permission.
We went for voluntary underemployment back when she still had custody of both skids, we sort of lost but they held her to her last known tax return because she failed to provide real proof...only bank statements (and we all know cash is king and totally hideable) but she acts like she is the a total honest person and would NEVER EVER under report her income. Yet she tried to get my DH to do this when he worked for HIMSELF and she did his taxes. Then after 3 years of this job, the court said it was no longer voluntary underemployment, even though she claimed she netted $2000 one year after expenses, HA!
How can they force parents to
How can they force parents to pay for college?? What if you are poor and could not afford to send your kid to college? What about your other kids? They get to do without clothes, or no college themselves? Unless a person makes a TON of money, this is a ridiculous requirement. No one forces parent who are together to do squat for a kid over 18!
Yes, indeed!!!!!! I am a poor
Yes, indeed!!!!!!
I am a poor wounded child of divorce and I have 50K in loans because I...took out loans. I am SO sick of people saying they cannot afford college-do not go or...take out a loan. My stepsister's father had to pay her college bc he has a lot of money, but when he realized she was partying and failing, he went to court and fought it and won. He almost lost bc my stepmother put up a huge fight. It makes no sense to me; I would NEVER have asked my parents to pay for my schooling.
It was $172/month for each
It was $172/month for each kid (so $344/month total) but now that SS2 lives with us just $172. And we see the kid every weekend. BM does t pay us shit for having SS2. She buys the kids things for when she sees them though (things from Salvation Army), but doesn't help us any.
We have SK's (2) 5 days a
We have SK's (2) 5 days a week plus have to provide health insuracne and 50% of co-pays, We have to buy all the school clothes and money for lumch and field trips ( not once in the 7 years that we have been togethe rhas she paid for a lunch, a field trip or any school clothes or suplies) we also have to provide transportation to and from BM's house for the 2 days she has the kids other wise she wont pick them up or drop them off,
We also pay 200 a month in CS which will go up to 700 a month once hubby gets a job in his field of training,
Im almost certain we have the short end of the stick here,
$3,100/month plus extra at
$3,100/month plus extra at tax time, 1 child, 100 days per year.
