Both DH and I are already hating it and it's only the first week of December. I told him we have all the chaos. We need to look at calendar, decide what we are doing & invite those to be included. Period. If they can't. Then they can't. Period. There's no other way without it becoming a circus. We have one set here until Christmas Eve. One set until the 28th. One child comes back on the 26th and will stay until after break. So we have these choices. Christmas together dec 16, dec 24 or jan 11. That's it. Or we break the kids up. That doesn't include crazy MIL who would will be pushing for god knows what. That doesn't include the granny's. That doesn't include the smart family that we actually want to see that is smart because they'll be spending the holiday in the tropics! See the circus? We are at four christmas' easy. Ugh.
