What's the best Father's Day gift your DH has ever recieved?
From either the skids or BM? And by best, here is an example to show you what I mean:
The first couple years we dated, BM would always buy DH Father's Day and Christmas gifts from SD. Usually a baseball cap or a button down shirt. Personally, I feel this is intrusive. DH has a mother and a wife to help SD with gifts for him. So, I always hated it, told DH so, and he hated it as well but was unsure what to do about it. He would just thank SD and then toss the gift after she went back to BM's. She was too young to notice that DH never wore her "gifts". I think BM was just wanting him to give her something in return. He never did, so the last gift he received from her was on Father's Day 2 years ago. It was a cheap, cheap t-shirt (the kind you see on those stands on the side of the road) that read in huge letters across the front "EPIC FAIL". :jawdrop:
DH was extremely hurt and I was so angry I couldn't see straight. Luckily, SD was only 3 at the time and she didn't understand the meaning so DH just thanked her. The shirt went into our court file. We decided the best response was no response, so it was radio silence from us on the matter. I guess BM was mad that she didn't get the response from DH she expected so that was the last gift from her!!

Yeah, the holidays bring out
Yeah, the holidays bring out a special kind of crazy in our BM. She almost always writes a long-winded email to DH over 3 day weekends like Memorial Day that need "immediate" attention. We always ignore them until the weekend is over & reply with "Sorry, just now saw this. We were enjoying our time off together." Ha!
Ugh, I would be really pissed
Ugh, I would be really pissed if DH had ever actually used one of BM's, er SD's, gifts. He once ate a brownie that came from BM's house and I almost lost it on him!
When SD graduated high
When SD graduated high school, she showed her ass in an epic way. She got a dressing down by DH and her grandfather. Less than a month later she sent DH a Father's Day card with a lovely handwritten note outlining all the ways she felt she felt he was a jerk. *eyeroll*
SD22 had never given him
SD22 had never given him anything, neither has BM, even when they were together.
Two years ago, SD decided to come and see DH on Father's Day (first time ever). She was late, of course, because she had to stop on the way to buy him a card at the last minute (the only time she has gotten him anything). It wasn't even signed, not even a "DAD" on the envelope.
But you better believe she calls non-stop in the weeks before her birthday to make sure he remembers the blessed event that was her birth.

It,s been 15 years. Still waiting for the first time a gift or card appears.
