SO & I greatly enjoyed our 4 days of being Skid free during our FL trip

Instead of properly meeting/being introduced to BM Nasty, I simply greeted the Skids, met her hideous glaring stare with a radiant smile, asked the Skids if they said bye to their mom, watched as they did so & proceeded to take them into the hotel as they had to get changed for an outing that we had planned (that we were running late for, thanks to BM Nasty!). SO was a little lost by the whole fiasco but didn’t miss the horrible up/down glaring stare on her part, nor did he miss my smiling in response. I decided the smile was all I could muster in niceties to her…plus, we couldn’t hang around as Nasty didn’t even bother to park properly to see her kids off!

Upon the Skids return to us, SD7 decided it would be a grand idea to shoot me a continuous stream of dirty looks, pout, refuse to hold my hand or acknowledge me when I spoke to her…SS8 on the other hand was an angel. This made our time at Disney interesting, to say the least! SO handled her well…I feel badly he had to deal with this kind of thing but such is life.

Seriously though…SD’s initial attempt at playing SO like a fiddle was working until I painstakingly pointed out to him what he needed to watch for…anytime I opened my mouth to SD, she got weepy telling SO how much she missed her mom…ONLY when I opened my mouth to her did this happen. Please note, SS8 & SD7 have their own cell phone now so that they can call/text her whenever they want to. They have NEVER and I repeat NEVER asked to call her, text her, skype with her or anything else. The last time SD did this, I simply asked “does this mean you need to call your mommy now?”…she glared at me and said “NO”. This behavior has now ceased due to the fact SO got wise to it…my thought on this behavior is WOW…she’s ONLY 7!!

Since being home, SO & I have heard “but my mom says…” many times to which we both respond, with a smile “well, welcome home”. This ends any argument/issue that the respective Skid may have had.

All in all, we had a good trip & enjoyed our time in FL immensely.
