OT - Women Wednesday

By my recent blogs, you may have surmised that I will soon have the displeasure of being in the presence of Satan, er, BioHo. Yippee.

Over the years (yesterday marked my 7 year anniversary of joining STalk!), I have often been advised "Don't Go" to any events where the noxious (and obnoxious) 'Ho is in attendence. And part of me wanted to do exactly that to avoid her toxicity and BS.

I KNEW that we'd end up going to the family photo shoot arranged by BioHo. <insert swears in multiple languages>

SS21 called DH last night and told DH he'd talked to 'Ho and basically begged her to let him and the future Mrs be part of the photo shoot. SS said that since he will be gone a year (or longer) in a dangerous area, he knows there is a possibility he might not make it back alive. While it makes me sick to even think about that, he's right. There IS a chance that will happen. God forbid.

SS21 is getting married next week. I love that young man, but am NOT looking forward to this for several reasons:

  • It's a long-arse drive and we're doing it in one day - down and back (oh, my aching back/butt)
  • Frigid-temp-loving Finn in sultry southern temps
  • Having to be around 'Ho for one second because she's playing the VICTIM and may cause problems

 

Late Fall, BioHo found out that SS21 was officially engaged via Fakebook. Seems his bride-to-be posted "We're getting married!" with a pic of the happy couple. Cue the Wrath of 'Ho!

Happy Thursday, STalkers! We're one day closer to the weekend and I've been thinking about lemonade all week. We're going fishing this weekend. Well, DH is fishing. I'll have my nose stuck in a book. Biggrin

Anyhoo, we're pic-a-nicking and that's why I've been in lemonade mode. Here are 3 recipes I'm considering.

Happy Friday, STalkers! Are you ready for the weekend? It's going to be HOT in my neck of the woods. The forecast says 93 degrees on Sunday. BLECH!!! This Finn needs a long, cool dip in Lake Superior. Psssst... I also need a long, cool dip when it's 70. Wink

Men are welcome to comment, too! This is more of a blog to remind myself that I made the choice to learn and grow during the chaos. It's been a bit of a rollercoaster ride and I haven't always been successful, but I've definitely come out on top. 

We've been dealing with the stress and strain of the pandemic/quarantine for over a year now. Some areas have opened up and are going full speed ahead while others continue to have restrictions and closed/limited access. And while things ARE moving forward, we have experienced loss - jobs, businesses, loved ones.

TGIF, STalkers! I've missed you!!!

My sincere apologies to those I've worried. Things have been insane at work. Add the fact that we've been living Murphy's Law (Anything that can go wrong will go wrong) means chaos is a way of life at this time. 

I'd also like to thank everyone who sent up prayers and good energy and well wishes for DH's grandmother. She's home and doing well. Her memory has deteriorated a bit more, but the lady is over 100!

OT - Asking for good vibes

DH's mother just called to tell us his grandmother had a stroke. Gma pretty much raised DH and he is horribly upset and concerned; as am I. I know she's an old lady, but am asking for good vibes and well wishes for one of the most wonderful ladies I've ever known, who is directly responsible for making my DH into the upstanding man he is. Thank you.
