Haircuts and other small thrills
I don't have any updates regarding me leaving DH or moving out, since I haven't done either.
We haven't fought, or even really spoken all that much, in 7 days.
I completely disengaged from the skids when they were over and it felt wonderful. I did not ONE thing for either of them. I plan to continue this hands off approach.
I haven't heard much about BM, she started with her weekly hysterics today regarding SS's haircut and I was able to stop myself from caring enough to discuss it with DH. Shave his head, let him keep wearing it in the "middle aged banker" style BM prefers, dye it cheetah print. I don't care.
The big news in my world (which I mentioned in my last post but feel like repeating over and over) ...I got a promotion! A bonus and a salary increase are being negotiated and I should hear back soon.
I also chopped my long hair off! I am wearing a short bob now. I feel liberated. I've always known DH prefers long hair.
I hope all is well with you all.

Bet that new haircut is cute on you!
Good to hear that the disengagement is working in your favor. Sometimes we get so close to things that we have a hard time being objective. Stepping back can give us some clarity for sure... and it is nice to not make that monkey part of your circus.

Wonderful. You be YOU.
Wonderful. You be YOU.
I have never understood why
I have never understood why men place such importance on their partners choice in hair length. I mean are THEY the ones washing it and styling it? Of course not. I find it quite controlling when a woman says her partner doesn't like her hair short. How would he know if he has never seen it short> And if it does look unflattering you can always grow it back and consider it a lesson learned.
I know what you mean but I
I know what you mean but I kind of disagree.
I have very long hair which my partner likes. I keep it long because *I* like it but the fact that he does too is nice.
He has always been clean-shaven, which I like. I cannot stand facial hair - I don`t like the look and I hate kissing men with it (etc!!) But he has recently started growing a goatee and I let him know all the time how much I hate it and beg him to shave it off!!!
As long as it`s not insisting that a person maintain a certain look but just stating a preference its kind of normal really.
