Is a very short separation ever a good idea?
I'm just so tired. My 13 year old SD is making me miserable. We have her all during the week, during school, and she spends weekends with her mom. Her mother would much rather be her friend than her mother. So she lets us be the bad guys so that she can be the "fun mom. My SD is so disrespectful to me, and she's just getting worse. She's rude, she's a liar, and she's a selfish brat. I've basically put my life on hold to raise her, and I'm just exhausted. This child has 4 parents - 2 real & 2 step, and yet I feel like I'm a single mother!

Okay, so this should be VERY interesting!!
So I wrote a blog a few days ago about how my SD12's other "parents" and happy just to let me do everything. And I'm not suprised in the least that her BM and her BM's boyfriend act that way, but it irritates me that my husband has that same attitude.

When I married my husband 9 years ago, I agreed to HELP him raise his 3 year old daughter, not do everything myself!
Now she's 12, and I feel like out of the 4 of us (me, dad, mom & step-dad), I'm the one person that really cares. The others are happy to just let me do everything. I feel like if I stop then I would only be letting my step-daughter down, and is that fair to her? Then she would have no parents at all. I just don't know what to do anymore. I'm exhausted! She is with her dad and me during the school week, and we are responsible for her education. I try my best to get her to follow a schedule, but she still acts like a 5-year old who has to be told what to do every single second.
