Disengaging just became the easiest thing in the world!
Thanks to my new job, disengaging just became so easy. The day before I got my new job SS10 was trying to pin something he did on his sister so I spoke up and told his dad what I knew (I think he thought because I said I was done with parenting them that I meant I wouldn't communicate with my husband about them either? BAHAHA) and when I said what I said, SS turned around and yelled at me. Well, he got in BIG trouble for yelling at me on top of the little punishment that he was to get for what he had done. His dad told him that until he learned how to speak with respect, he was not to speak at all except for the things he has to say. (i.e. May I?, Thank you, excuse me, Please, and such) Apparently the punishment lasted three days but I was only here for one of them. I got an evening job so I don't see them. Haven't for over a week now and oh man is it peaceful around here, well, for me anyway Well, Sunday I got home early enough that they were not in bed yet and they both came running up to me to tell me all the cool things about their visit with their grandmother that weekend. I politely interrupted them and said, "Excuse me, but if my memory serves me correctly, the last time I spoke to the two of you, you (ss) yelled at me for telling your Dad the truth about a lie you were telling right in front of me, and you (ss) were lying about me at school to your teachers. So, I hope you both really enjoyed your time with Gma, and I'm sure you did because I happen to love her, too (this is BM's mom we are talking about) but quite frankly, I don't know why either of you would think that I would be interested in listening to anything you want to talk about when you can't even seem to find it in you to treat me with an ounce of respect. When I said that I was done, I didn't mean for the day and just because I got a job does not mean this has changed. I'm sorry but I am busy so why don't you go tell your dad about all of the cool stuff that you did and got, okay?" They both got the deer in the headlights look. I think I've made my point, now. When they began to walk away I said, "Oh and I'm glad you finally got to see grandma. Is she doing better?" (Great grandma is in the nursing home and they call her gma because they call their grandma another name) SS lit up and said, "Yes ma'am! And she gave m...." I cut him off and said, "Oh I'm sorry, I just wanted to know if she had recovered from her pneumonia. I am not interested in what she gave you, I'm interested in whether or not she is well. You know, the important stuff." He said, "Yes ma'am." in a very pouty voice and walked away. LOL

Muahahahahahaha SM VICTORY!!!
Muahahahahahaha SM VICTORY!!! U GO GIRL!!! I would do the same damn thing!!! Fuck disrespectful skids!!! }:)
It took me so long to
It took me so long to actually care about whether or not they get to tell somebody the things that I used to listen to, but man, if they can't even sincerely thank me for cooking them dinner, why SHOULD I care? Yeah, I feel pretty victorious. And for once, I am not ashamed. They have pushed me around for WAY TOO LONG. I've taken 3 years of abuse from them because they are pissed that their mom would rather be bouncing from inmate to inmate and jail to jail than see/ speak to them. I'm not the one who did them wrong, I won't take the abuse she deserves. Sooner or later, they will see they lost the best thing that ever happened to them and I will decide then if they deserve to have me back.
