Howdy all,

So, SD14 hasn't spoken to DH, his dad (mom is deceased) or his grandparents since Father's Day with the exception of a brief encounter the day before her birthday a few wks back, which was a disaster. She only called DH's dad to see if he'd take her to Red Lobster for dinner and then when he suggested meeting at the grandparent's home for lunch instead, she bailed on them all. Totally ignored DH when he dropped her birthday card off to him, treated him like utter shit.

We went to play cards at his dad's place Friday night and dad casually brings up DH's ex and how she called granddad and grandmom (they're both 87 yrs old) asking them to pay for stepdevil's college since she knows DH isn't going to and she can't afford it. Ok, SD14 is NOT a good student, very dim bulb going on, failed a grade so she's only in 8th this year instead of 9th and likely won't even get into a college, but here's BM asking her ex's grandparents for money???? Quite the nerve. She lives in a $1400 per month duplex she can't afford, works at Target and drives a newer Jeep with a payment she can't afford either! She just wants money, period. Not for the brat's college - she'll be lucky to graduate at all!

DH and I were floored that she'd have the balls to approach them like that, after she hasn't seen them in years! And SD14 hasn't been around since June. DH says he's going to contact the grandparents and let them know that IF they decide to give any money to Stepdevil for college or whatever, they need to be sure it's in HER name with no way that BM can touch it.

DH texts BM on the way home and says "NEVER ask my family or anyone in it for money again, for any reason" to which she replied "don't presume to know the contents of a conversation you were not a part of"...Oh please. She's a liar and he's not supposed to believe his own family over her? Like they'd have any reason to lie to him?

Just needed to get that out and off my chest. I told DH that I'm no longer interested in what happens with BM and him, or he and SD. I'm totally disengaged from them all. I have a relationship with him and his family and that never included BM and barely includes Stepdevil at this juncture. I will no longer ask what happens or what goes down, nor will I bring up BM, SD14 or anything that has anything to do with them. I'm living my life with him and that's all!
