SD10 kissed a boy-BM freaked.
DH was babysitting an 11 year old for a coworker of mine who was in a pinch while he had his other kids for the weekend. I was asleep as I work night shift. SD10 and the 11 yr old boy apparently became "boyfriend and girlfriend" sometime during that time. When DH left to take SD home, her and "boyfriend" pecked on the lips. I just said "hey now, none of that" not yelling, just letting them know not to do that. When DH met up with BM he told her "SD has a little bf and they kissed" and chuckled. He thought it was cute (as did I) She went ten kinds of crazy. Told him that behavior was unacceptable (duh) and that he would never see his kids again. Then CALLED me asking me if I thought that was acceptable and telling me the kids weren't going to be coming until they went to court because she'd be damned if her daughter ended up pregnant (really, pregnant?) I simply told her I was asleep all day, only saw them kiss once (which is the only time they kissed) and I told them not to do that. I told her a judge would laugh in her face, but she could go ahead and embarrass herself. Apparently she thought we weren't taking the seriously enough? She got pissy with me and we had words. She was blowing this completely out of proportion.
To make matters worse the kids had exchanged phone numbers. SD gave her moms number to this boy. The next time I worked with this boys mother she told me that BM had texted her son, telling him to stay the HELL away from her daughter! Who texts a child saying something like that? She was acting like they did WAY more than kissing. It was a PECK for crying out loud!
For the record the kids came down the very next week. She does this often but can never stand the kids for more than a week I suppose because they always come back. SS11 told me he was to call his mother if that boy were here. I explained to her that it was a one time thing and he didn't live close and we wouldn't be babysitting him ever again.
The matter has blown over since then, but I wanted to vent anyway! This bitch is a lunatic!
I agree, you handled it very
I agree, you handled it very well. As long as she doesn't make a habit of kussing bus she just met, let them be kids. Sd13 on the other hand not only kisses them as soon as she meets them (within the first hour in one instance), but "loves" every single one within 24 hours or less. Now we ave to be careful she doesn't end up pregnant!! Not you.
Definitely not going to be a
Definitely not going to be a habit! lol I have a SD13 and SD14, so I know what you mean about that! SD13 falls head over heals for any boy that gives her the least bit of attention, to the point I feel it's unhealthy.
What 10 year old is ok with
What 10 year old is ok with kissing a boy on the lips IN FRONT of father???? And what dad just chuckles about it?
A SM posted a few weeks ago about her teen SS and his GF making out on the sofa in front of her husand. Many wondered how the teens got to the point where they were comfortable enough to behave that way in front of a parent.
BM was out of line for texting the boy, but I can understand her feelings about the whole kiss and BF\GF thing.
I am with Disneyfan on this
I am with Disneyfan on this one. 10 yrs old and kissing boys? OK, so she is not likely to get pregnant anytime soon but sexualising relationships early on is what leads to promiscuity. Call me old fashioned but at 10 yrs old being someone's girlfriend and kissing in front of my parents was NOT happening.
I don't think it is cute. My GDs father thinks it is cute for his 5 yr old to have a 'boyfriend'. My sister let her daughter go on a 'date' with a family friends son when she was 9 and he was 10. It was to the movies and it was all 'so cute' No it wasn't. It was not allowing boys and girls to make platonic friendships.
I get that your SD and this boy have things in common and are on the same wavelength but the whole kissing thing? Do you really think this was the first time this ever happened? And in front of her father??? As D/Fan said, a SM was disgusated with teens making out on the couch. No one finds that attractive. So where does it all start?
If I knew my 10 yr old daughter had been in the habit of kissing boys in front6 of her father I would have a meltdown as well. And if the boy is old enough to go around kissing girls he has just met he may be old enough to take care of himself. Somehow being babysat and kissing the babvysitters daughter does not meld well.
LOLOL The kid is old enough
LOLOL
The kid is old enough to have a girlfriend, kiss her on the lips in front of her father, but his mommy won't allow him to stay home alone. LOLOLOL
There's no need to get
There's no need to get immature about this. I put a stop to it ASAP. I agree that it can lead to promiscuity. SD has always been too open about such things. She's never been modest/shy in the least bit. She will walk up and talk to absolute strangers. She has to be TOLD to change cloths in private, she wouldn't care the least bit to disrobe in front of her father. I would have died if my dad saw me in my underwear! I agree that these things are not good. But in my opinion the kiss was cute. It was a peck. I may have gotten upset if it were my daughter, and believe it or not I have thought about that. My whole point to the post was the level she took it. Going to court? SD getting pregnant?
And as for the boy involved this was his first kiss according to the mother. And they were on the front porch not realizing that we were watching. So don't form such a biased opinion when you haven't gathered all the facts.
I was watching them out the
I was watching them out the window. That clear it up??
The mother is aware of the daughters behavior, however feels all that is just fine. Which is why her absurd reaction was shocking. I agree the girl needs watching...which is why I/her father always do.
