Sometimes I wonder...
why became a stepM. It is: a thankless job, BM from hell, DH takes skids/BM side (when push comes to shove), endless court battles (we are just making the lawyers rich), too damn expensive, never have a peace of mind, raising someone else' kids and have nothing to show it in the end.
All the self-help books about being a stepM are overly simplistic because they are all trying to be politically correct. I am going to write a book, and it is going to entitled "The reality of being a stepM: Don't be a stepM!"
P.S. I am addicted to this site, and thanks everyone for helping me times and times again.

I am sorry that you are
I am sorry that you are having so many issues with SK and your Husband. I am glad that my FDH woke up and did a 180 which in turn had the Skids follow in the change. Things at home are wonderful, the only issue I have is our BM from Hell.
The book idea is great but I have been think of a TV series BM's From Hell. Each week a new BM can be featured have hidden camera's set up and tape phone calls. I think it would make a killing. It could also feature the teenage step brats from Hell after all they would love the attention right?
I would totally buy that book
I would totally buy that book and I bet EVERY ONE ON HERE would too! Nobody understands us unless you're in the situation. It sucks, you wonder every single day why you would put yourself through such a horrible situation. I ask myself all the time "is this even worth it???" ugh. We're right there with you sista!
Thanks for posting this
Thanks for posting this Ifeeya. I think I really misunderstood the tone of some of your previous posts, and reading this clears up alot of my confusion about some of your responses. Sorry if I was overly defensive in my replies before. And sorry your situation is so bad. And I would ALSO buy that book in a heartbeat.
I second your motion. I
I second your motion. I think there honestly needs to be SEMINARS all over the world warning women about such lopsided "relationships" It's like being in a broken love triangle. You chase biodad, biodad chases the BM and skid, BM and skids chase biodad's wallet.
I also think there needs to be some "guilty dad registry" similar to "dont' date him girl" so that women are warned that they are stepping into StepHELL.88
