Wishing the Weekends Away...
If you're anything like I was before I married a man with children, then there was a time when you used to live for the weekends. You worked hard all week and couldn't wait for 5pm on Friday to roll around in anticipation of all of the fun activites planned for the weekend, or maybe just some rest & relaxation at home.
Unfortunately if you're still like me, then you now find yourself wishing your weekends away every other weekend, longing for your 8am return to work on Monday morning, as you're experiencing anything but "fun" &/or "relaxation" on the weekends that your SKs grace you with their presence.
Did you ever in your wildest dreams think the day would come when you would wish your weekends away? When you would rather be at work on a weekday than spending the weekend in the home that you spend your money, time and energy managing and maintaining? How did this happen?
This weekend was an especially torturous one because plans that would've taken us outside the home were canceled due to bad weather, so instead I got the pleasure of having a front row seat to witness the dog & pony show that marks the interactions between princess mini-wife SD12 & her loyal subject & BFF H.
Ugh, thank God that just when I was beginning to feel physically ill with nausea, this wonderful weekend visit has finally come to an end.
Until 2 weeks from now...

YES! YES! YES! I feel that
YES! YES! YES! I feel that exact same way! At first when I was seeing my now husband, his daughter lived with us, so there was really never time alone, then when she got a little older she moved to another state to be with her mother... But we still had visitation with my DH's two sons ( now 13 & 17). We would get them every Tuesday night for a few hours and Every single Sunday (all day/night) AND alternating Fri /Sat. So the schedule would be Tues, sat,sun one week and Tues, fri, sun the next. Since SS17 is now older and drives he almost never comes over he's out with friends on the weekend. And because of work schedule changes we no longer get them on Tuesday nights. So basically I've made it thru 2 skids, just waiting for SS 13 to find some friends to hang with. The only day I look forward to is the one night my DH and I have to go out (Fri or Sat) It's kinda sad because like you said there was a time when just the mention of the weekend made me smile... Not so much anymore.
Yep, me too. Everyone at work
Yep, me too. Everyone at work is all "yay friday" and all I can think is ugh, friday.
Could be worse. Count your
Could be worse. Count your blessings! We have sole custody of 3 skids, all TEENS, 24/7, yeah, I hate weekends!
