I'd love to get married again..but not yet. (Still haven't got the D papers) For me, in Canada with our tax system it would be a huge financial disadvantage for me & my BF to get married. I was a stay at home mom for most of my 1st marriage so it's like I'm starting my career 40+ instead of 20 something and I'm not where I should be financially, so unfortunately it is a factor for me. Could that be part of it?

Emotionally, etc., I'm ready. I know a few couples that have broken up and remarried..within the last 5 years. But the majority haven't re-married. I think it part of it has more to do with not finding the right person. The good catches seem to have been gobbled up within 2-3 years after thier split. The ones with significant character flaws seem to be the ones still single & looking.

I was married for 17 years and divorced. Now engaged to a great guy but I have to be honest...shouldn't have got engaged so quickly after my divorce (was about a year after my separation). I love him dearly but I have so many unresolved emotional issues left over from my XH leaving. We're engaged but no date set and who knows if there ever will be.

Does BM get alimony? Maybe that's why she hasn't remarried. Or maybe she's stupid and thinks that CS will end if she gets remarried! Or maybe the divorce was just so crappy she doesn't want to chance going through another one again for a long time (this is my case!).
